Alex Toohey
Alex Toohey (born 5 May 2004) is an Australian professional basketball player for the Golden State Warriors of the National Basketball Association (NBA). He previously played for the Sydney Kings of the National Basketball League (NBL). He was drafted by the Phoenix Suns with the 52nd pick in the second round of the 2025 NBA draft. Early life and career Toohey was born in Canberra, the capital of Australia. Growing up, he played both basketball and cricket, the latter of which his father had played. He decided to focus solely on basketball after receiving a call-up to the Australian national under-15 team for the Oceania Games. He attended Marist College Canberra and played for their team as well as with the Weston Creek Woden Dodgers. In 2020, Toohey joined the NBA Academy and the BA Centre of Excellence. 2024 NBA Draft
The 2024 NBA draft was the 78th edition of the National Basketball Association's annual NBA draft, draft. Unlike recent years, the 2024 draft took place over two nights. This was the first NBA draft to be held on multiple nights since the draft was shortened to two rounds, with earlier drafts consisting of as few as three or as many as twenty-one rounds prior to the current format's debut in 1989. The first round of the draft took place on June 26, 2024, at Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York, while the second round took place on June 27 at South Street Seaport#ESPN studios, ESPN's Seaport District Studios in Manhattan. The Gonzaga Bulldogs are an intercollegiate men's basketball program representing Gonzaga University. The school competes in the West Coast Conference in Division I of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA). The 2022 NBL1 season was the third season of the NBL1. With the West Conference introduced in 2021 alongside the South, North and Central conferences, the NBL1 expanded further in 2022 with the inclusion of an East Conference. The 2022 season was the NBL1's first full season to be completed since 2019 and the first to feature the NBL1 National Finals.
