Alex Asher Daniel (born May 14, 1973) is an American contemporary artist and composer. He uses a broad variety of materials including painting, sound installations, photography, drawing and film. A Los Angeles native, he has since lived and worked between London, New York City, and the Bay Area. Personal life Born and raised in Pasadena, California, Daniel received his Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the California College of the Arts in the San Francisco Bay Area, and was a fixture in the Oakland, California underground Hip-Hop scene in the 1990s. In college Daniel was inspired to dive deeper into his studies of mysticism and the esoteric by his then English teacher beat poet Michael McClure. According to spiritual beliefs, an aura or energy field is a colored emanation said to enclose a human body or any animal or object. In some esoteric positions, the aura is described as a subtle body. Psychics and holistic medicine practitioners often claim to have the ability to see the size, color and type of vibration of an aura. In spiritual alternative medicine, the human-being aura is seen as part of a hidden anatomy that reflects the state of being and health of a client, often understood to even comprise centers of vital force called chakras. Unkle (often stylised as U.N.K.L.E. or UNKLE, occasionally known as UNKLE Sounds) is a British musical outfit founded in 1992 by James Lavelle. Originally categorised as trip hop, the group once included producer DJ Shadow and have employed a variety of guest artists and producers. Warpaint is an American indie rock band from Los Angeles, California, formed in 2004. In 2006, Burke began Me Too as a youth program for junior and high school students with the goal of addressing the rampant sexual violence in the community.
