Albert H. Owens Jr.
Albert H. Owens, Jr. (August 27, 1926 – January 13, 2017) was the director of the Johns Hopkins Oncology Center in Baltimore, MD. Owens earned his undergraduate degree from Johns Hopkins University and graduated from Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine in 1949. Owens joined the faculty at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine in 1956, and focused his research on liver metabolism. The Johns Hopkins Hospital (JHH) is the teaching hospital and biomedical research facility of the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine, located in Baltimore, Maryland, U.S. It was founded in 1889 using money from a bequest of over $7 million (1873 money, worth 163.9 million dollars in 2021) by city merchant, banker/financier, civic leader and philanthropist Johns Hopkins (1795–1873). Sidney Kimmel Comprehensive Cancer Center
The Sidney Kimmel Comprehensive Cancer Center at Johns Hopkins University is an NCI-Designated Comprehensive Cancer Center in Baltimore, MD. It was established in 1973 and received its NCI designation that same year as one of the first designated cancer centers in the country. SKCCC is a member of the National Comprehensive Cancer Network, an alliance of 27 comprehensive cancer centers in the US. The current director of SKCCC is William G.
