Alan Wills (record Label Founder)
Alan Wills (12 June 1961 – 11 May 2014) was a British record label owner and drummer. He was known for founding Deltasonic, a record label based in Liverpool that signed bands including The Coral and The Zutons. As a musician he played in The Wild Swans, Shack, Top, and the Lotus Eaters. For his work with The Coral he was named one of the Managers of the Year in 2003 by the Music Managers Forum. Early life Wills was born in Anglesey, Wales on 12 June 1961, and grew up in the Cemaes area of the county. According to ''Music Week'', Will's father was "in charge of the UK's nuclear early warning system". Wills later said that he learned about management from his father: "He told me it's not about doing everything yourself, but about building teams, finding the best people and letting them get on with it". Deltasonic
Deltasonic is a British record label based in Liverpool, England. Previously joint ventured with Sony Music, it is now totally independent. It was formed by Alan Wills, the former drummer with Liverpool bands Shack and Top, and associated with the ' cosmic Scouse' and 'scallydelica' music scenes. History Aiming to be like Mo'Wax, Wills started his first label EVA in January 2000, primarily to release material by Joe Fearon a.k.a. Paracruzar. However, after three promo-only releases on clear 10-inch vinyl, including the first release by 'Mountaineers' (credited on the record as 'The Sandpeople'), he decided to move on to new areas and, with the help of his partner Ann Heston and consultancy from Simon Duffy (Tri Tone), he started a new label called Deltasonic Records. The Farm are a British band from Liverpool. Their first album, ''Spartacus'', reached the top position on the UK Albums Chart when it was released in March 1991; ''Spartacus 30'' was released in 2021 to commemorate the anniversary. ''Spartacus'' includes two songs which had been top 10 singles the year before. In 2012, they toured with their Spartacus Live shows and formed part of the Justice Tonight Band, supporting the Stone Roses at Heaton Park, Phoenix Park, Lyon and Milan. The Lightning Seeds (also known as Lightning Seeds) are an English rock band formed in Liverpool in 1989 by Ian Broudie (vocals, guitar, producer), formerly of the bands Big in Japan, Care, and Original Mirrors. Page Moss
Page Moss is an area in the borough of Knowsley, Merseyside. It borders the city of Liverpool to the east. Previously known as "The Horns" due to the name of two buildings previously sited in the area. The population of the Knowsley ward taken at the 2011 census was 7,076. The A57/Liverpool Road which passes through Page Moss was historically an early turnpike, toll houses were installed during the 1700s on what later became well known public houses in the area such as "The Eagle and Child" and "The Bluebell Inn". Markers were placed at mile intervals along the toll road and an original still stands to this day alongside the eastbound side of Liverpool Road opposite the junction with Lyme Cross Road, previously a mile marker would be situated on the corner of Twig Lane but this has been missing since at least the 1930s when the Page Moss estate was constructed for housing. Aintree University Hospital (colloquially known as Fazakerley Hospital) is a National Health Service hospital in Fazakerley, Liverpool. It is managed by the Liverpool University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. History In 1898 Liverpool Corporation acquired land from the Harbreck estate with which to build a hospital. The hospital, initially known as the "City Hospital North, Fazakerley, for Infectious Diseases" opened in 1906. Miles Peter Kane (born 17 March 1986) is an English musician, best known as a solo artist and the co-frontman of the Last Shadow Puppets. He was also the former frontman of the Rascals, before the band announced their break-up in August 2009. He is currently pursuing a solo career, and continues to be a part of the Last Shadow Puppets with Arctic Monkeys frontman Alex Turner. The Longcut
The Longcut are an English rock band, formed in 2002 in Manchester. Career The Longcut formed in Manchester in 2002, while attending the University of Manchester. Originally a four-piece, their vocalist left soon after the band started and the remaining members intended to make purely instrumental music. In 2003 their experiments with cheap drum machines led to a new sound and their unusual stage setup. The band's original sound and energetic live performances brought them to the attention of the record industry in 2004, eventually signing to Liverpool's Deltasonic label.
