Al-Sinaa Sports Club () is a football club based in Thawra District, East Districts of the Tigris River, Baghdad, that plays in Iraqi Premier Division League. History Premier League Play Overview Al-Sinaa started playing in the Iraqi Premier League since the start of the championship in the 1974–75 season, and lasted for 23 consecutive seasons, before being relegated to the Iraqi First Division League in the 1997–98 season. The team returned to play in the Premier League in the 2001–02 season, and, in the 2010–11 season, got third place in the league, but was relegated to the Iraqi First Division League again in the 2012–13 season. Al-Sinaa Stadium
Al-Sinaa Stadium () is a multi-use stadium in Baghdad, Iraq. It is currently used mostly for football matches and is the home stadium of Al-Sinaa SC. The stadium holds up to 6,000 people. The stadium hosted the 2017 Iraq FA Cup Final on 22August 2017 between Al-Zawraa and Naft Al-Wasat. Al-Zawraa won the match 1–0 with a stoppage time goal from Alaa Abdul-Zahra, for the club's record 15th title. The 1983–84 Iraq FA Cup was the eighth edition of the Iraq FA Cup as a club competition. The tournament was won by Al-Sinaa for the first time, beating Al-Shabab 5–4 on penalties in the final after a 0–0 draw on 14 June 1984. Al-Shabab reached the final by beating Al-Tijara, who had earlier knocked out Al-Zawraa 2–1 and Al-Shorta on penalties after a 0–0 draw. The Iraq Cup (), commonly known as the Iraq FA Cup, is an annual Single-elimination tournament, knockout association football, football competition in men's domestic Football in Iraq, Iraqi football organised by the Iraq Football Association. First held in the 1948–49 season for clubs and institutions, it returned in the 1975–76 season as a clubs-only competition. The tournament usually begins with several rounds played between lower division clubs, twelve of which advance to the Round of 32, where the Iraq Stars League clubs are entered. This is followed by the Round of 16, the quarter-finals, the semi-finals and the final which is played as a single leg in Baghdad. Khalid Mohammed Sabbar (; born 23 February 1973) is an Iraqi former football defender who played for Iraq Iraq, officially the Republic of Iraq, is a country in West Asia. Qusay Munir
Qusay Muneer Abboodi Al-Hussein (; born 12 April 1981 in Iraq) is a former footballer and currently head coach of Al-Diwaniya. Prior to his managerial career Muneer was an acclaimed central midfielder with more than 80 caps for the Iraqi National Team, winning the 2007 Asian Cup. 2020–21 Iraqi First Division League
The 2020–21 Iraqi First Division League was the 47th season of what is now called the Iraqi Premier Division League, the second tier of the Iraqi football league system, since its establishment in 1974. The number of clubs in the league have changed throughout history due to several factors, most recently in this season when the number of clubs increased from 12 to 28 in total. The top team from each group is directly promoted to the Premier League, while a third club can be promoted through play-offs, on the other hand, two clubs from each group are directly relegated to the Second Division League. 2012–13 Iraqi Elite League
The 2012–13 Iraqi Elite League was the 39th season of the competition since its establishment in 1974. The season began on 19 October 2012 and finished on 4 September 2013. Al-Shorta were crowned champions for the third time, finishing on 72 points, two points ahead of nearest competitors Erbil. Having only managed a seventh-place finish in the previous season, Al-Shorta's results improved significantly under the presidency of Ayad Bunyan and they were able to outperform favourites Erbil, Duhok, Al-Zawraa and Al-Quwa Al-Jawiya. On the final day of the season, three teams were all still in the race for the title. Al-Shorta needed a win against Al-Talaba to secure the league, whilst Erbil had to defeat Al-Najaf and hope that Al-Shorta failed to win their game if they wanted to retain their title.
