Haider Obeid
Haider Obeid (; born 2 April 1979) is an Iraqi former football defender who currently coaches Al-Zawraa. He played for Apollon Limassol in the Cypriot First Division and Zob Ahan F.C. in the Iran Pro League.Manager Zakho FC Obeid is the younger brother of Iraqi midfielder Abbas Obeid. Iraq Stars League
The Iraq Stars League (), is the highest level of the Iraqi football league system. Contested by 20 clubs, it operates on a system of promotion and relegation with the Iraqi Premier Division League. It is governed by the Iraqi Pro League Association. The league was formed by the Iraq Football Association in 1974 as the Iraqi National Clubs League, the first nationwide league of clubs in Iraq, and later became known as the Iraqi Premier League. In 2023, the competition was rebranded as the Iraq Stars League and transitioned into a fully professional competition. The current format sees 20 teams playing 38 matches each (playing each team in the league twice, home and away), totalling 380 matches in the season. 2024–25 Iraqi Premier Division League
The 2024–25 Iraqi Premier Division League was the 51st season of the Iraqi Premier Division League, the second tier of the Iraqi football league system since its establishment in 1974, and the second under its new name. The season was originally set to begin on 11 October, but was delayed to 22 October to allow clubs to complete their preparations. The 2024–25 season was played under a different format than the previous seasons, as teams are no longer separated into groups; instead the 20 teams played each other home and away in a double round-robin tournament. Summary Al-Gharraf started the season strong, and went undefeated for eleven rounds before losing their first game to eventual champions Al-Mosul. Prior to the match, the Al-Gharraf team complained about lack of funds due to delays in receiving grants from the government. The Iraqi Premier Division League () is the second-highest division of the Iraqi football league system after the Iraq Stars League. The league is contested by 20 clubs and is operated by the Iraq Football Association (IFA). Each season, the two top-finishing teams in the Premier Division League are automatically promoted to the Stars League, while the third-placed team enters a promotion play-off. The two lowest-finishing teams are relegated to the First Division League. From the 2023–24 season, the competition's name was changed from First Division League to Premier Division League. The 2021–22 Iraqi Third Division League was the 48th season of what is now called the Iraqi Second Division League, the fourth tier of the Iraqi football league system, since its establishment in 1974. The 2022–23 Iraqi Second Division League was the 49th season of what is now called the Iraqi First Division League, the third tier of the Iraqi football league system, since its establishment in 1974. The number of clubs in the league has varied throughout history for various reasons; in this season the number of clubs was 98 (in addition to 26 pre-qualified teams from the previous season, playing starting from the second round, so the total is 124 teams).
