Al-Kut Olympic Stadium
Al-Kut Olympic Stadium (Arabic: ملعب الكوت الأولمبي) is a multi-purpose stadium in Al Kut, Iraq. It is currently used mostly for football matches and also has facilities for athletics. The stadium has an official capacity of 20,000. It was officially inaugurated on 28July 2018 with a football match between Al-Kut SC and Al-Mosul FC. The stadium hosted the 2019 Iraqi Super Cup on 14September 2019 between Al-Zawraa SC and Al-Shorta SC. The latter won the competition for the first time in its history by winning on penalties (4-3) after the match ended 1-1. Iraqi Third Division League
The Iraqi Third Division League is a football league that is the fifth tier of the Iraqi football league system. The league was established in 2024. League format Each team can register up to 25 players in their squad list, and each club is required to have a formal establishment licence issued by the Ministry of Youth and Sports. The format of the league for the inaugural 2024–25 season is as follows: First stage Teams are split into 18 regional tournaments in accordance with the 18 governorates of Iraq. Each tournament is organised by the Iraq Football Association's sub-branch in that governorate (except for the tournament in Baghdad which is organised by the IFA Competitions Committee). A total of 42 teams qualify for the second stage. Wasit Governorate
Wasit Governorate () is a governorate in eastern Iraq, south-east of Baghdad and bordering Iran. Prior to 1976 it was known as Kut Province. Major cities include the capital Al-Kut, Al-Hai and Al-Suwaira. The governorate contains the Mesopotamian Marshes of Shuwayja, Al-Attariyah, and Hor Aldelmj. The 2021–22 Iraq FA Cup was the 32nd edition of the Iraqi knockout football cup as a club competition, the main domestic cup in Iraqi football, featuring a record 168 clubs from the top four tiers of the Iraqi football league system, (20 from the Iraqi Premier League, 24 from the Iraqi First Division League and 124 from the Iraqi Second Division League and Iraqi Third Division League). The competition began on 10 September 2021 with the first-round matches involving teams from the third and fourth tiers, and the final was played on 16 July 2022 at Al-Madina Stadium in Baghdad. The winners of the competition were Al-Karkh, who won their first title with a 2–1 victory over Al-Kahrabaa.
