"Akanamali" is a song recorded by South African DJ and music producer Sun-El Musician featuring South African singer-songwriter Samthing Soweto. EL World Music and Sony released it on 21 May 2017, as the lead single from his debut studio album, ''Africa to the World'' (2018). It reached number one on Shazam charts, becoming the first single from the album to reach summit of the chart. Sun-El Musician released Extended Mix version of the song on 17 July 2021. Sanele Tresure Sithole (born 28 March 1989), known professionally as Sun-El Musician, is a South African disc jockey, music producer, and songwriter. Born and raised in Mooi River. He attended University of KwaZulu-Natal but dropped out to purse a career in music. His debut studio album ''Africa to the World'' (2018), which was certified gold by the Recording Industry of South Africa (RiSA). He was a producer for Demor Music before the establishment of his own record label EL World Music. His most recent album '' African Electronic Dance Music'' was released in October 2021. The 24th Annual South African Music Awards was held at Sun City, in the North West on June 2, 2018. The list of nominees was announced on April 19, 2018 at Birchwood Hotel in Ekurhuleni. Mafikizolo, Mi Casa and Shekhinah each received a node of nomination Other artists with multiple nominations include Mobi Dixon, Distruction Boyz and Riky Rick. Samkelo Lelethu Mdolomba (born 21 January 1988), known professionally as Samthing Soweto, is a South African singer and songwriter. Samthing is best known for his vocals on Sun-El Musician's song " Akanamali" and his number 1 single on spotify "Akulaleki". Following his departure of the group The Soil, Mdolomba released his debut album, ''This N That Without Tempo'' (2010), which fuses a capella and soul. He then departed from his debut album's sound as he introduced fusions of Afro pop, and R&B for his second album, ''Isphithiphithi'' (2019), which became certified platinum by the Recording Industry of South Africa RiSA.
