Aisha Gomez
Aisha Gomez (born July 22, 1981) is an American politician serving in the Minnesota House of Representatives since 2019. A member of the Minnesota Democratic–Farmer–Labor Party (DFL), Gomez represents District 62A, which includes parts of Minneapolis in Hennepin County, Minnesota. Early life, education, and career Gomez graduated from South High School in Minneapolis and attended the University of Minnesota, graduating with a B.S. in environmental science. Before running for political office, Gomez worked with the Women's Environmental Institute for more than a decade and was a senior policy aide to Minneapolis City Council member Alondra Cano. Minnesota House of Representatives Gomez was elected to the Minnesota House of Representatives in 2018 and has been reelected every two years since. Susan Allen
Susan Allen (born March 27, 1963) is an American politician and former member of the Minnesota House of Representatives. A member of the Minnesota Democratic–Farmer–Labor Party (DFL), she represented District 62B, a southside district encompassing the Powderhorn and Bryant neighborhoods of Minneapolis. She was the first Native American woman to serve in the Minnesota Legislature and the first openly lesbian Native American to win election to a state legislature. The Central neighborhood (part of the larger Powderhorn community) of Minneapolis, Minnesota, United States is located south of the downtown region of the city. It is bounded by Lake Street on the north, Chicago Avenue on the east, 38th Street on the south, and Interstate 35W on the west. It should not be confused with the Central community, which covers Downtown and some surrounding neighborhoods. Central is split between two city council wards along Portland Avenue and 36th Street. Line 3 Pipeline
The Line 3 pipeline is an oil pipeline owned by the Canadian multinational pipeline and energy company, Enbridge. Operating since 1968, it runs mainly from Hardisty, Alberta, Canada all the way to Superior, Wisconsin, United States. Concerns about the safety of the pipeline led Enbridge to reduce its capacity. Over its history, the pipeline has been the source of millions of gallons of oil spills, including a Line 3 oil spill, 1991 oil spill in Grand Rapids, Minnesota, that was the worst inland oil spill in U.S. history. In 2014 Enbridge proposed the construction of a new pipeline segment along a different route in Minnesota which would increase the volume of oil that could be transported.
