Aino Yamada
Aino Yamada (born 10 March 2003) is a retired Japanese rhythmic gymnast. She represented her country at the 2018 Youth Olympics and is the 2021 national Japanese champion. Personal life She took up rhythmic gymnastics because she enjoyed how it allowed her to express herself with her body and how each apparatus had a different character. Outside of the gym she enjoys hot springs and saunas. Her dream was to compete at the Olympic Games, like her idol Melitina Staniouta did, in 2024. She is studying at the Kokushikan University in Tokyo. Career Junior Yamada debuted at the 2016 Asian Championships in Tashkent, where she won a bronze medal in teams along Sumire Kita, Chisaki Oiwa and Karin Koike. In 2017 she was again selected for the Asian Championships. She ended 3rd in the all-around and won bronze in the hoop final behind Adilya Tlekenova and Takhmina Ikromova. Sumire Kita
Sumire Kita (; born 11 January 2001) is a retired Japanese individual rhythmic gymnast. She is the 2016 Asian Junior all-around champion, the 2022 Asian Senior all-around silver medalist, two-time Japanese National Junior champion, and four-time Japanese National senior champion. Personal life Kita started doing rhythmic gymnastics at age two. Her mother also practiced rhythmic gymnastics until she went to university. Kita speaks Japanese and Russian. Her younger sister, Mirano Kita, is also an individual rhythmic gymnast and has represented Japan at multiple international FIG events. Career In 2013, Kita debuted at the Japan National Rhythmic Gymnastics Championships, where she became the youngest ever to take second place. Mirano Kita
Mirano Kita (born 16 February 2006) is a Japanese rhythmic gymnast. She represents her country in international competitions. Personal life Mirano began the sport at age five. She was influenced by her older sister, Sumire, who also competed in rhythmic gymnastics at the international level. Career Kita debuted at the 1st Junior World Championships in Moscow, placing 17th in teams, 29th with rope, 40th with ball, 19th with clubs and 8th with ribbon. In 2022 she became a senior. She competed at the World Challenge Cup in Portimão, ending 14th in the all-around, 13th with hoop, 19th with ball, 11th with clubs and 18th with ribbon. The 2022 Rhythmic Gymnastics World Championships were held from 14 to 18 September 2022 in Sofia, Bulgaria. The competition was used to determine the first quotas given for the 2024 Summer Olympics. The three medalists in the individual and group all-around won quotas for their countries. Notable absences included all Russian and Belarusian gymnasts, who were not allowed to compete after the 2022 Russian invasion of Ukraine. The 2022 FIG World Cup circuit in Rhythmic Gymnastics is a series of competitions officially organized and promoted by the International Gymnastics Federation.
