Ahmed Daham
Ahmed Daham Karim (; 12 October 1967 – 29 December 2021) was an Iraqi football manager and player who played as a midfielder. He represented the Iraq national team in the 1996 Asian Cup. Coaching career Daham signed for the Naft Maysan in August of the 2018–19 season, after Uday Ismail left. He led the team through good results and a very good season. He achieved fifth place in the league, six points behind third place. In the Iraqi Cup, the team went through the quarter final and was knocked out by Al-Talaba SC. Daham reached agreement with the board to stay for another season after long negotiations. Personal life and death Daham died from a heart attack on 29 December 2021, at the age of 54. 2015–16 Iraq FA Cup
The 2015–16 Iraq FA Cup was the 27th edition of the Iraqi knockout football cup as a club competition, the main domestic cup in Iraqi football. It was the second edition held after the 2002–03 edition, although the 2012–13 one was abandoned. At first, thirty-nine teams were set to participate in the competition, but after the withdrawals of many of the Iraqi Premier League teams, only days before the Round of 32, clubs including Al-Shorta, Al-Talaba, Al-Hudood, Al-Sinaa, Naft Maysan, Al-Najaf, Zakho, and Al-Kahrabaa, a total of twelve teams from the Iraqi Premier League and nineteen from Iraqi First Division League ended up participating. It began on 5 October 2015 and ended on 29 May 2016 with the final at the Al-Shaab Stadium in Baghdad. The Iraq Cup (), commonly known as the Iraq FA Cup, is an annual Single-elimination tournament, knockout association football, football competition in men's domestic Football in Iraq, Iraqi football organised by the Iraq Football Association. First held in the 1948–49 season for clubs and institutions, it returned in the 1975–76 season as a clubs-only competition. The tournament usually begins with several rounds played between lower division clubs, twelve of which advance to the Round of 32, where the Iraq Stars League clubs are entered. This is followed by the Round of 16, the quarter-finals, the semi-finals and the final which is played as a single leg in Baghdad.
