Afyonkarahisar Motor Sports Center ( tr, Afyon Motor Sporları Merkezi) is a motor sports race track for motocross events in Afyonkarahisar, Turkey. Opened in 2016, the -long track has a hard pack type of soil. The race track was opened after a short construction time in 2016. Owned by the Afyonkarahisar Municipality and operated by the Turkish Motorcycle Federation, it is located at Sadıkbey Mah. and Dörtyol Mah., Turgut Özal Cad., next to the Yeni Şehir Stadiumu in Afyonkarahisar. The Turkish Motocross Championships in 2016 and 2017. were held at the race track. The finals of the 2019 European Motorcycle Acrobatics Championships took place at the race track. Afyonkarahisar (, tr, afyon "poppy, opium", ''kara'' "black", ''hisar'' "fortress") is a city in western Turkey, the capital of Afyon Province. FIM Motocross World Championship is the premier championship of motocross racing, organized by the Fédération Internationale de Motocyclisme (FIM), divided into two distinct classes: MXGP and MX2. Race duration is 30 minutes plus two laps per race. The series runs 18 events with two races per class at each round. Motocross is a form of off-road motorcycle racing held on enclosed off-road circuits. The sport evolved from motorcycle trials competitions held in the United Kingdom. The 2021 FIM Motocross World Championship was the 65th FIM Motocross World Championship season. In the MXGP class, Tim Gajser started the season as the reigning champion after picking up his fourth world title in 2020. In MX2, Tom Vialle was the defending champion as he picked up his maiden world title in the previous year. The 2021 season saw the debut of Beta as a manufacturer in the MXGP class.
