Afshin () is a common Persian given name derived from Avestan. Afshin was used by the Sogdians. Historically, it was the title of the rulers of Principality of Ushrusana in Transoxiana before the Muslim conquest of Persia.. Afshin Ghaffarian (, ; born 1986 in Mashhad) is an Iranian choreographer, director, dancer, and actor, participating primarily with the group "Reformances". '' Desert Dancer'' is a 2014 movie inspired by his life. Ghaffarian was portrayed by Reece Ritchie. Biography Ghaffarian started his art career in 1999, in Saba Art Center. He holds a high school diploma in Cinema and a Bachelor of Arts in Theatre from Islamic Azad University Central Tehran Branch. In late 2009, he received media attention after his performance in "Strange But True", part of Iranian cultural festival in Mulheim an der Ruhr, Germany. As the play ended, he appeared with a green bracelet, a sign of Iranian Green Movement, chanting " Where is my vote?". Afshin Peyrovani
Mohammad Ali "Afshin" Peyrovani (, born 6 February 1970) is a retired Iranian footballer and a football coach. He is the younger brother of Gholam Peyrovani and Amir Hossein Peyrovani. A former Iran national, he played in the 1998 World Cup, as well as the team that finished third in the 1996 Asian Cup. A versatile player, Peyrovani played in several positions throughout his career, including as a central defender and right defender. Throughout his club career, he played for Perspolis and Peykan and won Iran League for Fifth time. Following his retirement, he also served as a manager and Football Director for Perspolis. Afshin Nazemi (; born 20 February 1971 in Sowme'eh Sara, Iran) is an Iranian football coach and the retired player who is currently manager of Gilanmehr Fouman. Playing career He began his career as a football player in 1990 with Esteghlal Rasht. After two years, he joined the first team squad and played for the team for ten years, then moved to Pegah and played three years for the team. He retired in July 2006.
