Afif Abed
Afif Abed (; born 9 February 1974) is an Israeli Druze politician serving as a Member of the Knesset starting January 2025. Biography Abed was born in Yarka. He began studying for a general degree at Western Galilee College but has not completed it. Abed has been a member of Likud's Secretariat and active in the Likud Party since the early 2000s. He ran for the Druze reserved spot in the in 2013 but lost to Ayoob Kara by approximately 10,000 votes. In 2022, he announced his candidacy for the reserved Druze spot on the Likud list. After Ayoob Kara won the primaries, Abed appealed to the Likud's tribunal, which declared him the winner of the minorities' slot instead of Kara. He was placed in the 43rd position on Likud's Knesset list ahead of the 2022 election. Abed entered the Knesset following the resignation of Yoav Gallant. Yarka
Yarka, officially Yirka (, ), is a Druze village and local council in the Northern District of Israel. In 2019 it had a population of 17,171, 98.8% of them members of the Druze community, with a small Muslim (1.0%) and Christian (0.1%) minorities. History Ancient era Yarka is an ancient village site, where old columns and cisterns have been found. Ayoob Kara
Ayoob Kara (, ; born 12 March 1955) is an Israeli Druze politician. He has served as a member of the Knesset for Likud in four terms between 1999 and 2021, and as Minister of Communications. Biography Kara was born in Daliyat al-Karmel, a Druze town near Haifa. He went to an agricultural high school in Kfar Galim. He spent a year playing professional association football as a defensive back for Bnei Yehuda Tel Aviv F.C. He later served in the Israel Defense Forces reserve and attained the rank of major, before being discharged for post-traumatic stress disorder. Serving alongside Jews before and after the establishment of Israel has been a source of family pride: his uncle was killed during the Arab revolt in 1939, and his father served in the IDF during the 1948 Arab–Israeli War. 2022 Israeli Legislative Election

Yoav Gallant (; born 8 November 1958) is an Israeli politician and former military officer who served as Ministry of Defense (Israel), minister of defense between 2022 and 2024. Gallant was an officer in the Southern Command (Israel), Southern Command of the Israel Defense Forces, serving in the Israeli Navy. In January 2015 he entered politics, joining the new Kulanu party.
