Adélard Trottier
Adélard Charles Trottier (November 8, 1879 – November 29, 1955) was a physician, surgeon and politician in Ontario, Canada. He represented Essex North in the Legislative Assembly of Ontario from 1934 to 1943 as a Liberal. Arthur Nelson Alles was a member of the Legislative Assembly of Ontario from 1943 to 1945. After graduating from Waterloo College, Alles moved to Windsor, Ontario where he found work with Ford. He was elected as the MPP for Essex North representing the Co-operative Commonwealth Federation (Ontario Section). In late 1944, he and fellow CCF MPP Leslie Hancock endorsed a proposal by A. A. MacLeod, leader of the Communist Labor-Progressive Party for a coalition between the LPP, the Liberals and the CCF to oust the Ontario Progressive Conservative Party government of George A. Drew. Hancock and Alles left the CCF caucus to sit as Independent Labour MPPs after CCF party leader Ted Jolliffe rejected the LPP proposal. Lacolle () is a municipality in southern Quebec, Canada, located in the administrative area of the Montérégie, on the Canada–United States border. The population as of the Canada 2021 Census was 2,708. The Lacolle River runs eastward through the middle of the town and empties in Richelieu River. More people cross the border illegally from the United States there than at any other point. Almost nineteen thousand people were detained in 2017. The nearest town across the border is Champlain, New York. History The written history of Lacolle can be traced back to July 4, 1609, when Samuel de Champlain and his entourage stopped briefly at the mouth of a small stream for a meal before continuing southward up the Richelieu River into the Lake Champlain, lake which now bears his name.
