Karachi Metropolitan Corporation () is a public corporation and governing body to provide municipal services in Karachi, the largest city of Pakistan. History 1852 Karachi Conservancy Board was established to control cholera epidemics in Karachi during British rule in 1846. The board was upgraded into the Municipal Commission in 1852. 1853 In 1853 the Municipal Commission was turned into Karachi Municipal Committee. KMC Building
The Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) Building is a colonial-era building located on M. A. Jinnah Road, in central Karachi. Construction began in 1927, completed in 1930, and the building was then inaugurated in 1932. It is considered to be one of the most architecturally significant buildings in Karachi. History A foundation stone for a new municipal office was first laid at the site in 1895. Groundwork for the new building was completed in 1915, but the remainder of construction did not begin until 1927. Construction was completed in 1930, and the building was inaugurated in 1932, as the Karachi Municipal Building. The total cost of the building was Rs.1,775,000. The building's Silver Jubilee Clock, a clock tower with a Moorish-style dome, was added in 1935 to commemorate King George V's visit to the region. Murtaza Wahab is a Pakistani politician who is the current Adviser to Chief Minister of Sindh on Rules and regulations. He was a member of the Senate of Pakistan from August 2017 to March 2018.
