Lyari Development Authority
Lyari Development Authority (LDA) was established in 1993 by the Government of Sindh to oversee the development of Lyari, Karachi, Sindh, Pakistan. It was merged with the City District Government Karachi in 2001 but were reinstated after its dissolution. Government Of Sindh
The Government of Sindh () () is the provincial government of the province of Sindh, Pakistan. Its powers and structure are set out in the provisions of the 1973 Constitution, in which 30 Districts of 7 Divisions under its authority and jurisdiction. The province's executive head and head of the government is the Chief Secretary Sindh. All officers and cabinet members report to the Chief Secretary. Karachi Municipal Commission (KMC) was a public corporation established in 1852 in Karachi, Sindh. Pakistan. History Karachi Conservancy Board was established to control Cholera epidemic in Karachi during British rule in 1846. The board was upgraded into Municipal Commission in 1852. In 1853 Municipal Commission was turned into Karachi Municipal Committee. The foundation stone of KMC building was laid on Bundar Road in 1927. City District Government Of Karachi
The City District Government Karachi (CDGK) was a local government of Karachi, Pakistan. It was established through a local government ordinance (LGO) in 2000 to empower the local government by decentralizing district government. Karachi became a federation of eighteen autonomous boroughs, called "Towns," that made up the City District Government Karachi from 2001 until 2011. Under this now-defunct system, Karachi had a local government system, with a mayor empowered to make decisions in regards to city-planning and administration of local services. It was headed by the mayor and was formed under the presidential rule of Pervez Musharraf in 2001. CDGK existed until 2010. Lyari Town
Lyari Town (, ) is named after the historic locality of Lyari. Lyari Town was the smallest borough (called "town" in Karachi) by area, but also the most densely populated. Lyari Town was formed in 2001 as part of the Local Government Ordinance 2001, and was subdivided into 11 union councils. The town system was disbanded in 2011, and Lyari Town was re-organized and merged into Karachi South in 2015 before it was part of District Karachi West. According to the 2023 Pakistani census, the population of Lyari Subdivision is 949,878. Hawke's Bay (Karachi)
Hawke's Bay or Hawkesbay is a beach in Karachi, Sindh, Pakistan, located 20 km southwest of Karachi city. The beach is named after Bladen Wilmer Hawke, who owned a house on the beach during the 1930s. The beach is very popular, with hundreds of people visiting daily for swimming, camel and horse riding, and vacations. Marine life This beach is known for being a nesting ground for green sea turtle and olive ridley sea turtle during winter months.
