Adam Ellis (born 21 March 1996) is a British grasstrack and motorcycle speedway rider and former British champion. Marmande
Marmande (; in Occitan language, Occitan, ''Marmanda'') is a Communes of France, commune in the Lot-et-Garonne ''Departments of France, département'' in south-western France. Geography Marmande is located 35 km north-west of Agen, on the southern railway from Bordeaux to Sète. The town is situated at the confluence of the Trec (river), Trec with the Garonne on the right bank of the latter river, which is crossed at this point by a suspension bridge. There is a second bridge to the west of Marmande which connects the D933 from the Toulouse/Bordeaux motorway (A62 autoroute, A62) to the new by-pass, opened in July 2009, which now leads to Bergerac, Dordogne, Bergerac and the ''département'' of the Dordogne. Dackarna
Dackarna is a motorcycle speedway club from Målilla in Sweden who compete in the Swedish Elitserien. Their home track since 1993 has been the Skrotfrag Arena which was the venue for the Grand Prix of Scandinavia and is the current venue for the Speedway Grand Prix of Sweden. They ride in the Elitserien and are six times champions of Sweden. History 1935 to 1964 The team was founded in May 1935 as Målilla Motorklubb and in 1949 renamed itself Dackarna (in honour of Nils Dacke) and the club began league racing. The team raced at the Gamla Målilla Motorstadion but in 1956, the team rode their matches at the Växjö Motorstadion. In 1957, Dackarna won division 1 and were declared the winners of the Swedish Speedway Team Championship for the first time; the team included Rune Sörmander and Dan Forsberg. Motorcycle speedway, usually referred to simply as speedway, is a motorcycle sport involving four and sometimes up to six riders competing over four clockwise, anti-clockwise laps of an oval circuit. The motorcycles are specialist machines that use only one gear and have no brakes. Racing takes place on a flat oval track usually consisting of soil, dirt, loosely packed shale, or crushed rock (mostly used in Australia and New Zealand). Grasstrack
Motorcycle Grasstrack is a form of track racing which typically, in its current form, takes place on a flat track consisting of two straights and two bends usually constructed in a field. It is one of the oldest types of motorcycle sports in the UK with the first meetings having taken place in the 1920s. History In the United Kingdom, kidney-shaped circuits were sometimes used to include a right hand bend, and undulating hillsides were also used to increase the challenge for riders. The events traditionally occurred after haymaking and before harvesting season on newly-cut fields. The 2022 SGB Premiership was the 87th season of the top tier of British speedway and the 5th known as the SGB Premiership. NDL Fours
The NDL Fours formerly the Conference League Four-Team Championship and National League Fours is an annual motorcycle speedway contest between teams competing in the third tier of speedway in the United Kingdom. Teams consisting of four riders from each team are placed in two qualifying groups, and one rider from each team competed in each race. The winners and second place of each group competed for the Championship in the final. In 2009, the Conference League Four-Team Championship was replaced by the National League Fours and then in 2019 the tournament became known as the National Development League Fours (NDL Fours) for short. Speedway World Cup
The Speedway World Cup is a motorcycle speedway event for national teams held in different countries. The first edition of the competition in the current format was held in 2001 and replaced the old Speedway World Team Cup, World Team Cup which ran from 1960 until 2000. The competition was held annually until 2017 when it was replaced by the Speedway of Nations pairs event. The Speedway World Cup returned in 2023 and will be held every three years. British Speedway Championship
The British Speedway Championship is an annual motorcycle speedway competition open to British national speedway riders. The winner of the event becomes the British Speedway Champion. History Inaugurated in 1961 as a qualifying round of the Speedway World Championship it was open to riders from Britain and the British British Dominions, dominions. It was initially dominated by riders from New Zealand such as Barry Briggs and Ivan Mauger because of the British Final forming part of the World Speedway championship qualifying rounds. Briggs and Mauger were multiple world champions. It was not until 1975 that the final was restricted to British riders. Countries such as Australia and New Zealand then held their own World Individual Speedway championship qualifying rounds. Region Varde Elitesport and Outrup Speedway Club is a motorcycle speedway club southwest of Outrup in the Varde Municipality of Denmark, who compete in the Danish Speedway League. Track The club's home venue is the Outrup Speedway Center, which is located less than 2 kilometres in a south westerly direction from the centre of Outrup, on Hennevej 35. History 1973 to 1976 In 1961, a short lived club called Outrup Motor Sport was formed and they built a small dirt track described as being part of the Blåbjerg Klitplantage (dune plantations). Fjelsted Speedway Klub
Fjelsted Speedway Klub or Team Fjelsted is a motorcycle speedway club from the town of Fjelsted near Harndrup in Denmark, who compete in the Danish Speedway League. The team have won the Danish Speedway League title on six occasions. Track The track called the Fjelsted Speedway Stadium is located 5 kilometres south of Harndrup and 1 kilometre south of Fjelsted, on Ridderstien 31. History 1971 to 1985 A mini speedway track was built in the spring of 1971 in an old apple garden. The venture was a collaboration between Ejby Junior Club, the Middelfart Municipality and rider Carl Andreasen.
