Al Dhahirah Governorate () is one of the eleven governorates (''muhafazah'') of Oman. It was previously a region (''mintaqah''), and became a governorate on 28 October 2011. The largest city in the governorate is Ibri. Economy Al Dhahirah Governorate is the location of the biggest oil field in Oman, Yibal, which started operations in 1968. Dhank
Dhank () is a wilayah (province) of Ad Dhahirah Governorate in Oman. It borders the provinces of Al Buraimi on the northwest, Ibri on the southwest and Yanqul on the east. It has many valleys, such as Wadi Al Fateh and Wadi Qumeirah. In October 1870, it saw the Battle of Dhank, between the forces of Omani Imam Azzan bin Qais and Sultan of Muscat Turki bin Said. Sunaynah
A' Sunaynah () is a ''Wilayah'' (Province) in Al Buraimi Governorate, northeastern Oman. The village contains a substantial area of greenery and is described as "remote, even by Omani standards". A' Sunaynah is known for its traditional camel races as well as textile and weaving industries. The wilaya is reportedly occupied by the Al Nuaimi tribe; in the 1960s the tamimah of the Al Nuaim was reported to be 'Ali ibn Hamuda of the Al Bu Khuraiban division, who lived at Sunainah. Al Buraimi Governorate
Al Buraimi Governorate () is one of the 11 governorates of Oman. The area was part of Ad Dhahirah Region until October 2006, when a new governorate was created from the wilayats (provinces) of Al Buraymi and Mahdah. A third wilayat, As- Sunaynah, was created from parts of the two. Dr. Hamad bin Ahmed Al Busaidi has been governor since 2020. The town of Al-Buraimi is an oasis town in northwestern Oman, on the border of the United Arab Emirates. Al Ain is an adjacent city on the UAE side of the border. Mahdha
Mahdah (), or '' Wilāyat Maḥḍah'' (), is an Omani ''Wilayah'' (province) north of the town of Buraimi which borders the emirates of Sharjah, Ajman and Dubai, to the east, it borders the Wilayats of Liwa and Sohar. It was previously necessary to pass through Mahdah when travelling through Madam to reach the Ajman exclave of Masfut, as well as the Dubai exclave of Hatta, a tourist spot popular for its hotel, heritage village and the famous (although now a metalled road) Hatta track. Al Buraimi () is an oasis city and a ''wilayah'' (province) in northern Oman, on the border with the U.A.E. It is the capital of Al Buraimi Governorate and is located approximately from the national capital Muscat. It is bordered by the U.A.E. city of Al Ain, and the wilayas Mahdah and Dhank.
