Accra Ridge Church
The Accra Ridge Church is an English-speaking inter-denominational Protestant church based in the residential neighbourhood of Ridge in Accra, Ghana. The church is affiliated to the Anglican Diocese of Accra, Methodist Church Ghana and the Presbyterian Church of Ghana. The church also has branches in the suburbs of Tudu and Manet. The church is also the owner of the Ridge Church School, an independent and parochial preparatory day basic school located on the chapel premises. History Records indicate that the idea for a church for European expatriates dates back to either 1935 or 1936. The first chaplain was appointed in 1936. In a 1954 church pamphlet, it was stated that "''The Ridge Church originated in 1935 due to the community of worship desired by a number of residents from the residential area of Accra, known as Ridge.''" Anglican Diocese Of Accra
The Anglican Diocese of Accra is a diocese of the Church of the Province of West Africa, a member church of the Anglican Communion. It was founded in 1909 by the Archbishop of Canterbury. The cathedral of the diocese is Holy Trinity Cathedral in Accra, Ghana. The Anglican Diocese of Accra (ADOA) is the oldest in the Internal Province of Ghana, and in terms of clergy and churches, is Ghana's largest diocese. The diocese is made up of over one hundred parishes, congregations and missions with over 120 clergy, both male and female. The diocese is organized under five clusters namely the Deanery, Accra East Archdeaconry, Accra West Archdeaconry, Accra North Archdeaconry, Accra North-East Archdeaconry and the Tema Archdeaconry. William Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo ( ; born 29 March 1944) is a Ghanaian politician who served as the 13th president of Ghana from January 2017 to January 2025. Jacob "Jake" Lantei Otanka Obetsebi-Lamptey (4 February 1946 – 20 March 2016) was a Ghanaian politician and advertising businessman. He was co-owner and general manager of Lintas W.A. Amon Nikoi, born Seth Amon Nikoi, (19 January 1930 – 5 September 2002) was a Ghanaian economist and diplomat. Essi Matilda Forster (12 September 1922 – August 1998) was a Ghanaian lawyer and the first female native of the Gold Coast (now Ghana) to qualify as a lawyer. Early life and education Forster was born to George James Christian, and Aba Lucy French, in Sekondi, the Gold Coast, on 12 September 1922. The University of Ghana Medical School also UGMS is the medical school of Ghana's first public research institution, the University of Ghana. It is currently located at the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital in Accra. The medical school was first planned in 1919, but took its first students in 1962.
