Amon Nikoi
Amon Nikoi, born Seth Amon Nikoi, (19 January 1930 – 5 September 2002) was a Ghanaian economist and diplomat. He was the Permanent Representative of Ghana to the United Nations between 1957 and 1960 as well as the Governor of the Bank of Ghana from 16 March 1973 to June 1977. He had a stint as the Finance minister and a presidential advisor between September 1979 to May 1981 under Hilla Limann during the Third Republic. Early life and education Nikoi was born in the Accra suburb of La on 19 January 1930 to Ga parents. His father, Gottfried Ashaley Nikoi was a civil servant while his mother, Agnes Betty Oboshie Quao was a teacher and a textiles trader. Amon Nikoi's maternal great-grandfather, Nii Ngleshie Addy I was the oldest son of Nii Tetteh Tsuru I, the founder and ruler of the Otuopai Clan, a royal house in Ga Mashie. Gloria Amon Nikoi
Gloria Adwoa Amon Nikoi, née Addae (6 June 1927 – 10 November 2010) was as a Ghanaian diplomat who served as the Foreign Minister in 1979 under the Armed Forces Revolutionary Council (AFRC) government. She was the first Ghanaian woman to hold this position. Career She attended Achimota College. Nikoi was the Deputy Chief of Mission to the United Nations from 1969 to 1974. Gloria Nikoi later worked as a senior official in the Ghanaian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. After the military coup of June 4, 1979 which overthrew the Supreme Military Council government, she was made foreign minister for about four months in the Armed Forces Revolutionary Council (AFRC) government of Flight lieutenant Jerry Rawlings. This ended on September 24, 1979, when the Third Republic under Dr. Hilla Limann's People's National Party government was inaugurated. Ga-Adangbe People
The Ga-Dangbe, Gã-Daŋbɛ, Ga-Dangme, or GaDangme are an ethnic group in Ghana, Togo and Benin. The Ga and Dangbe people are grouped respectively as part of the Ga–Dangme ethnolinguistic group. The Ga-Dangmes are one ethnic group that lives primarily in the Greater Accra of Ghana. Ethnic Ga family names (surnames) include Nikoi, Amon, Kotey, Kotie, Adei, Kutorkor, Oblitey, Lartey, Nortey, Aryee, Poku and Lamptey. Labadi Beach or ''more properly known as'' La Pleasure Beach is the busiest beach on Ghana's coast. It is one of Accra's beaches and is maintained by the local hotels.
