Abraham Lincoln High School (Minnesota)
In 1918, Bloomington, Minnesota opened its first secondary school, ''Bloomington High School'' at 10025 Penn Ave. S., the school remaining at this location until a new building opened in the fall of 1957. The new Bloomington High School at (8900 Queen Ave. S., Bloomington MN 55431) with the adjacent Bloomington Stadium, was renamed Abraham Lincoln Senior High School in 1965 when a second high school, John F. Kennedy Senior High School opened. The original location, then known as the "annex", served as the tenth grade school for 1000 sophomores prior to the second high school. Robert Vinatieri was the tenth grade principal. The school's mascot of Bloomington HS and Lincoln HS was the Bears. School colors were green and white, with gold. History The Lake Conference was originally formed in 1932 with the charter members being Hopkins High School, Deephaven High School, Excelsior High School, (Deephaven and Excelsior High Schools were consolidated in 1952 to Minnetonka High School), Mound High School, Saint Louis Park High School, University High School, and Wayzata High School. The name originates from the fact that most of these schools were located in cities where lakes were abundant and that Minnesota is the ''Land of 10,000 Lakes''. Bloomington Kennedy High School
John F. Kennedy High School is one of two public high schools located in Bloomington, Minnesota, USA. Named after former president John F. Kennedy, it was opened in 1965 due to the rapid growth of Bloomington at the time. Athletics The school had been a member of the Lake Conference since the school opened but left the Lake Conference after the 2009–10 school year to become part of the new South Suburban Conference. In 2014, Kennedy joined the new Metro West Conference. In 2022, Kennedy joined the Tri-Metro Conference. Thomas Jefferson High School is one of the two high schools in Bloomington, Minnesota, United States Independent School District No. 271. It is located at 102nd Street and France Avenue on the suburb's southwest side. About 1,600 students attend in grades 9 through 12. The mascot is a Jaguar. Jefferson was named a National Blue Ribbon School of Excellence by the US Department of Education in 2009, although the school has had a solid academic reputation within the state for some time.
