Lake Conference
The Lake Conference a high school athletic conference with seven member high schools in the western and southwestern suburbs of the Twin Cities, Minnesota. It is affiliated with the Minnesota State High School League. History The Lake Conference was originally formed in 1932 with the charter members being Hopkins High School, Deephaven High School, Excelsior High School, (Deephaven and Excelsior High Schools were consolidated in 1952 to Minnetonka High School), Mound High School, Saint Louis Park High School, University High School, and Wayzata High School. The name originates from the fact that most of these schools were located in cities where lakes were abundant and that Minnesota is the ''Land of 10,000 Lakes''. MSHSL
The Minnesota State High School League (MSHSL) is a voluntary, non-profit association for the support and governance of interscholastic activities at high schools in Minnesota, United States. The association supports interscholastic athletics and fine arts programs for member schools. Membership includes nearly 500 schools, including special schools, home schools, and 435 high schools. The State High School League is an affiliate of the National Federation of State High School Associations (NFHS). The League also addresses sportsmanship, chemical health, scholarship recognition, and oversees tournament officials and judges. The League provides educational programs for coaches. Burnsville () is a city south of downtown Minneapolis in Dakota County, Minnesota. The city lies on a bluff overlooking the south bank of the Minnesota River upstream from its confluence with the Mississippi River. Buffalo High School (Minnesota)
Buffalo High School is located in Buffalo, Minnesota, Minnesota, United States off the intersection of County Road 35 and Dague Avenue. There are three communities that contribute students: Buffalo, Minnesota, Hanover, Minnesota, and Montrose, Minnesota, which has helped BHS grow into a large school of 2,145 students starting in the 2022-23 school year, with a staff of approximately 400. Missota Conference
The Missota Conference was an athletic conference for high schools in the greater Twin Cities area in Minnesota. The league disbanded following the 2013-14 school year. The conference has had several teams come and go over the years. In the mid-1970s, team members were Burnsville, Rosemount, Lakeville, Prior Lake, Northfield, Farmington and Simley. Burnsville left in 1977 and was replaced by Apple Valley, which split off from Rosemount. New Prague joined in 1979, making it an eight-team conference. By the mid-1980s, Apple Valley and Rosemount had grown quite a bit bigger than the other schools. Farmington, the smallest team, left the league and Red Wing joined. Since conference by-laws didn't allow schools to kick out a member, the Missota Conference members voted to disband (approximate date 1987). Prior Lake High School
Prior Lake High School (PLHS) is located in Savage, Minnesota, United States and enrolls students in grades 912. The school is part of the South Suburban Conference. It has approximately 2,900 students currently enrolled, along with a teaching and administrative staff of around 400. The students and teams at Prior Lake High School are known as "Lakers". A book, "Another Planet: A Year in the Life of a Suburban High School", was written by author Elinor Burkett and paints a controversial portrait of life in the school and around the city of Prior Lake. In 2003 when the new high school building opened in Savage, the decision was made to keep the name "Prior Lake" High School because of the rich history of the school. South Suburban Conference (Minnesota)
The South Suburban Conference is a Minnesota State High School League conference in Minnesota. It was started officially on July 1, 2010, when 9 schools from the Lake Conference and one from the Missota Conference left their respective conferences to create the South Suburban. They offer 30 different interscholastic sports and 14 fine arts activities. After the 2013-14 school year, Bloomington Jefferson and Bloomington Kennedy left the conference to the newly formed Metro West Conference for a better balance of enrollment. Farmington Senior High School and Shakopee High School joined from the Missota Conference that same year. Chanhassen High School
Chanhassen High School (CNHS) is a four-year comprehensive public high school located in Chanhassen, Minnesota, United States, a southwestern suburb of Minneapolis. Construction of the school was approved by voters in 2006 in response to rapidly growing enrollment in Carver County and overcrowding at Chaska High School, the district's other high school. History As a result of steady population increases in Carver County, Chaska High School's enrollment surpassed its building's designed capacity, with future growth in the school district expected. Lakeville South High School
Lakeville South High School (LSHS) is a high school located Lakeville, Minnesota, United States. To meet the needs of a growing population, in the early 2000s the district began construction of LSHS. LSHS enrolled students for the first time in fall 2005. Unlike LNHS, whose student come from a predominantly urban/suburban catchment area, LSHS pulls from the suburban/rural areas of Lakeville. This socioeconomic divide has contributed to the ferocity of the rivalry between LNHS and LSHS athletics. Eastview High School is a comprehensive and college preparatory public high school in Apple Valley, Minnesota, United States. Established in 1997, Eastview is the newest of the four high schools serving Independent School District 196. Chaska Senior High School (CHS) is a public high school located in Chaska, Minnesota, United States, a southwestern suburb of the Minneapolis-St. Paul area.
