Abdul Ghani Samsudin
Abdul Ghani bin Samsudin (born 1946) is a Malaysian politician and is a member of the National Trust Party (AMANAH), a component party of the Pakatan Harapan (PH) coalition. He also served as Deputy General Adviser of National Trust Party (AMANAH) since the establishment of the party in 2015. Education and career Abdul Ghani received his early education at Masjid Tanah National School, Melaka and Madrasah Aljunied Al-Islamiah, Singapore before attending Maahad Buuth Islamiyah al Azhar, Egypt (1965–1967). He then continued his studies at Al-Azhar University in Egypt (1967–1974) and obtained a Masters (Sharia) in the field of comparative sects and law. Upon his return to Malaysia, Abdul Ghani served as a religion teacher at Sekolah Kebangsaan Sekolah Agama Sharifah Rodziah, Malacca. The National Trust Party (AMANAH; ms, Parti Amanah Negara), is a registered political party in Malaysia advocating a reformist strand of political Islam. The party was founded as the Malaysia Workers' Party before being handed over in August 2015 to Gerakan Harapan Baru, a group of progressive Islamist leaders of the Pan-Malaysian Islamic Party which lost in the June 2015 party election. This group of Islamists then redefined the Malaysia Workers' Party as an Islamic reformist party on 16 September 2015. The party currently has eight elected Members of Parliament. It is one of the four component parties of the ruling coalition in Malaysia called Pakatan Harapan. Dato' Mohd Shamsudin Lias (born 15 December 1953) is a Malaysian politician who has served as Member of the Selangor State Legislative Assembly (MLA) for Sungai Burong since March 2004. He served as State Leader of the Opposition of Selangor from June 2013 to his resignation in December 2014. He is a member of the United Malays National Organisation (UMNO), a component party of the Barisan Nasional (BN) state opposition but federal ruling coalition. 2004 Malaysian General Election
A general election was held on Sunday, 21 March 2004 for members of the 11th Parliament of Malaysia. Voting took place in all 219 parliamentary constituencies of Malaysia, each electing one Member of Parliament to the Dewan Rakyat, the dominant house of Parliament. This is first election for Abdullah as Prime Minister since appointed for this position in 2003. State elections also took place in 505 state constituencies in 12 out of 13 states of Malaysia (except Sarawak) on the same day as Sabah took the first time election was parallel with the rest of Peninsular Malaysia.
