Non-governmental Organization
A non-governmental organization (NGO) is an independent, typically nonprofit organization that operates outside government control, though it may get a significant percentage of its funding from government or corporate sources. The National Association of City Transportation Officials (NACTO) is a coalition of the Departments of Transportation in North American cities. AASHTO Road Test
The AASHO Road Test was a series of experiments carried out by the American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials (AASHTO), to determine how traffic contributed to the deterioration of highway pavements. Methodology The AASHO road test was to study the performance of pavement structures of known thickness under moving loads of known magnitude and frequency.
