7th Communications Regiment (Ukraine)
The 7th Separate Communications Regiment (A3783) is a regiment level signal and communication unit of the Ground Forces of Ukraine, operationally under the command of Operational Command South. It was established on 7 May 2015 and has since then taken part in both the War in Donbass and the Russian invasion of Ukraine. History The unit was established on 7 May 2015, as a field communications unit and managed to distinguish itself in the ATO zone, armed primarily with the R-145BM and R-414 vehicles. On 29 July 2016, it was reorganized into a separate communications regiment, headquartered in Odesa as part of Operational Command South. Following the Russian invasion of Ukraine, it saw combat. The Ministry of Defence of Ukraine () is the ministry of defence, ministry of the Government of Ukraine, Ukrainian government that oversees national defence and the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Operational Command South
The Operational Command South ( OC South, ) is a formation of the Ukrainian Ground Forces in the southern part of Ukraine, which was formed in January 1998 as the Southern Operation Command on the basis of the Odesa Military District and was headquartered in Odesa. From 2005-2013 it was known as the Southern Operation Association. In January 2007 RIA Novosti reported that destruction of ammunition would take place at the 275th artillery ammunition base (275-й артиллерийской базе боеприпасов) near the village of Novobohdanivka, Zaporizhzhia region. Anti-Terrorist Operation Zone (), or ATO zone (), was a term used by the media, public, the government of Ukraine, and the OSCE and other foreign institutions to identify Ukrainian territory of the Donetsk and Luhansk regions (oblasts) under the control of Russian military forces and pro-Russian separatists.
