55th Guldbagge Awards
The 55th Guldbagge Awards ceremony, presented by the Swedish Film Institute, honoring the best Swedish films of 2019 and took place on 20 January 2020 at Cirkus in Stockholm. The ceremony was televised by SVT and comedian Emma Molin hosted the ceremony for the second year in a row. The nominees were announced on 8 January 2020. Cirkus (Stockholm)
Cirkus ( sv, Cirkus Arena och Restaurang AB) is an arena in Djurgården Djurgården ( or ) or, more officially, ''Kungliga Djurgården'' (), is an island in central Stockholm, Sweden. In 1869 Didi Gautier sold his circus Didier Gautiers menagerie to Adèle Houcke. The building took fire later, and was rebuilt in 1892 as present Djurgårdscircus. The Guldbagge for Best Film is a Swedish film award presented annually by the Swedish Film Institute (SFI) as part of the Guldbagge Awards (Swedish: "Guldbaggen") to the best Swedish motion picture of the year. ''Britt-Marie Was Here'' ( sv, Britt-Marie var här) is a 2019 Swedish comedy-drama film directed by Tuva Novotny based on Fredrik Backman's 2014 novel of the same name. Produced by Gustav Oldén and Nicklas Wikström Nicastro, the film stars Pernilla August, Peter Haber, Anders Mossling, Malin Levanon, and Vera Vitali. Pernilla August (; born Mia Pernilla Hertzman-Ericson; 13 February 1958) is a Swedish actress, director and screenwriter. The Guldbagge for Best Director is a Swedish film award presented annually by the Swedish Film Institute (SFI) as part of the Guldbagge Awards (Swedish: "Guldbaggen") to directors working in the Swedish motion picture industry. History Throughout the past 50 years, SFI has presented a total of 50 Best Director awards to 40 different directors.
