3,4-Pr-PipVP is a substituted cathinone derivative with stimulant effects which has been sold as a designer drug. 3,4-EtPV 3,4-Pr-PipVP was marketed online since 2021 as 3,4-EtPV, which is not covered by the controlled drug analogue laws in some jurisdictions such as Germany and Holland. However, while genuine 3,4-EtPV can be made and is now available from analytical suppliers as a reference standard, the benzocyclobutene ring system is relatively unstable and the synthesis is challenging, and all samples of supposed 3,4-EtPV that have been tested have proved to be 3,4-Pr-PipVP. TH-PVP
TH-PVP is a substituted cathinone derivative which has been sold as a designer drug. It was first identified by a forensic laboratory in Hungary in 2015, but has subsequently been found in numerous other countries around the world including Spain, Belgium, Poland, Turkey and Brazil. Pharmacological studies ''in vitro'' showed it to inhibit reuptake of the monoamine neurotransmitters, with about 10-fold selectivity for serotonin over norepinephrine and dopamine, whereas the drug did not induce monoamine release. Despite its activity as a monoamine reuptake inhibitor, TH-PVP failed to produce stimulant effects in animals. MDPHP (3',4'-Methylenedioxy-α-pyrrolidinohexiophenone) is a stimulant of the substituted cathinone, cathinone class originally developed in the 1960s, which has been reported as a novel designer drug. In the UK its slang name is ''monkey dust''. It is closely related to the potent stimulant MDPV though with slightly milder effects, and has been used as an alternative in some countries following the banning of MDPV. Naphyrone
Naphyrone, also known as O-2482 and naphthylpyrovalerone, is a stimulant drug of the cathinone and naphthylaminopropane families. It was derived from pyrovalerone and acts as a serotonin–norepinephrine–dopamine reuptake inhibitor (SNDRI). Naphyrone has been reported as a novel designer drug. No safety or toxicity data is available on the drug. The drug has been marketed under the name “NRG-1,” although only a minority of samples of substances sold under this name have been found to actually contain naphyrone, and even samples that proved to contain genuine β-naphyrone were in some cases also found to contain the 1-naphthyl isomer α-naphyrone in varying proportions, further confusing the reported effects profile.
