''27'' is the third studio album by Nigerian rapper Falz. It was released as a surprise album on 27 October 2017, Falz's birthday, by Bahd Guys Records. The album features guest appearances from Burna Boy, Olamide, Terry Apala, Davido, Ycee, Wande Coal, Sir Dauda, and Medikal. Its production was mainly handled by Sess the Prblm Kid, along with additional production from Demsa, Studio Magic, Spax, Juls, and Maleek Berry. ''27'' serves as a follow-up to Falz's sophomore album '' Stories That Touch'' (2015). Background Following the success of ''Stories That Touch'' (2015), Falz began work on his third studio album, ''27'', which was released as a surprise on his 27th birthday, 27 October 2017. In an interview with ''Pulse Nigeria'', Falz said the album had different working titles, including ''The Polish Villager'', before he chose "27" to mark his 27th birthday. Folarin Falana (born 27 October 1990), better known by his stage name Falz, is a Nigerian rapper, songwriter, and actor. He began his career in secondary school after forming a group called The School Boys with a friend, before launching his professional music career as a music artist began in 2009. Falz gained wider recognition after releasing the song "Marry Me" featuring vocals from Poe and Yemi Alade. He currently owns an independent record label called Bahd Guys Records. Samuel Adu Frimpong (born 5 April 1994), popularly known as Medikal, is a Ghanaian hip hop musician born to Portia Lamptey and James Frimpong in Sowutuom, a suburb of Accra. Early life and music career He comes from Sowutuom, a suburb in Accra, Ghana. Medikal and Sarkodie had the highest nominations for the 2017 edition of the Ghana Music Awards. The Headies 2018
The Headies 2018 was the 12th edition of The Headies. It was held on May 5, 2018, at the Eko Convention Centre in Victoria Island, Lagos. Nigerian comedian Bovi and singer Seyi Shay hosted the ceremony. After shortlisting thousands of entries submitted during the eligibility period, the organizers of the ceremony announced the nominees in April 2018. They also announced the addition of three categories: Viewer's Choice, Best Performer, and Industry Brand Supporter. Simi led the nominations with 7, followed by Wizkid and Davido with 6 each. The ceremony featured performances from a number of artists, including Falz, Mr Real, Simi, and the Danfo Drivers. Pulse Nigeria praised the award's sound production and stage design.
