270th Motor Rifle Division
The 270th Motor Rifle Division was a motorized infantry division of the Soviet Army and later the Russian Ground Forces. History On 19 August 1967, the division was reformed in the Far East Military District, without a formal designation or barracks location, and was linked for administration purposes to the 129th Motor Rifle Division. The division's Military Unit Number (''Войсковая часть'') was 61304. On 3 March 1970, the 270th Motor Rifle Division was formally re-formed, based in the city of Khabarovsk. The division was a part of 15th Army (Combined Arms) of the Far East Military District. The Far Eastern Military District (russian: Дальневосточный военный округ; Dalʹnevostochnyĭ voennyĭ okrug) was a military district of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation. The 35th Combined Arms Red Banner Army is a field army of the Russian Ground Forces. The army was first formed in July 1941 with the Far Eastern Front. After spending most of World War II guarding the border in Primorsky Krai, the army fought in the Soviet invasion of Manchuria in August 1945, and was disbanded shortly after the end of the war. Reformed at Belogorsk when Sino-Soviet tensions rose in the late 1960s in the Far East, the army became part of the Eastern Military District in 2010. 64th Motor Rifle Brigade
The 64th Separate Guards Motor Rifle Brigade (Military Unit Number 51460) is a motorized infantry brigade of the Russian Ground Forces, which may have been "destroyed in combat" after being deployed to eastern Ukraine in mid-2022. Based at Knyaze-Volkonskoye, near Khabarovsk, the brigade was part of the Eastern Military District's 35th Army. The brigade's acting commander in May 2022 was Lt. Colonel Vasiliy Shcherbakov.
