211th Pontoon-Bridge Brigade (Ukraine)
The 211th Pontoon-Bridge Brigade (A7147) is a brigade level military unit of the Ukrainian Support Forces, part of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. It was established as a regiment on 3 April 2022, but was expanded to a brigade in February 2024 and has seen action during the Russian invasion of Ukraine. History The 211th Pontoon-Bridge Brigade was first established as the 210th Pontoon-Bridge Regiment on 3 April 2022 in Khmelnytskyi Oblast, on the basis of the 48th Engineering Brigade, later expanded to a brigade in February 2024. In 2022, the brigade's battalions performed combat missions including the establishment and maintenance of Pontoon Bridges in Kherson Oblast, Mykolaiv Oblast, Donetsk Oblast, Poltava Oblast and Kharkiv Oblast. A brigade is a major tactical military unit, military formation that typically comprises three to six battalions plus supporting elements. 2022 Kherson Counteroffensive
A military counteroffensive was launched by Ukraine on 29 August 2022 to expel Russian forces occupying the southern regions of Kherson and Mykolaiv oblasts. Military analysts consider the counteroffensive to be the third strategic phase of the war in Ukraine, along with the concurrent eastern counteroffensive, after the initial invasion and the battle of Donbas. After many strikes against Russian military targets, Ukraine announced the start of a full-scale counteroffensive on 29 August 2022. Ingulets
The Inhulets () or Ingulets () is a river, a right tributary of the Dnieper, that flows through Ukraine. It has a length of and a drainage basin of . The Inhulets has its source in the Dnieper Upland in a ravine (balka) to the west of Topylo village, in the Kropyvnytskyi Raion of Kirovohrad Oblast, about from the Dnieper river, to which it initially flows parallel. The Inhulets turns south, where it flows through Kryvbas Iron Ore Basin, and the Kherson and Mykolaiv Oblasts, before finally flowing into the Dnieper about east of the city of Kherson. Kramatorsk (, ; ) is a city and the administrative centre of Kramatorsk Raion in Donetsk Oblast of the Donbas region of eastern Ukraine. Prior to 2020, Kramatorsk was a city of oblast significance. Battle Of Izium
On the eastern front of the Russian invasion of Ukraine, a military engagement began in March 2022 between Russian and Ukrainian forces took place for control over the city of Izium, an important transportation node. The Russian military wanted to capture Izium so its forces in Kharkiv Oblast could link up with their troops in the Donbas region. Battle Russian attacks on Izium started from 28 February 2022, with "constant" rocket strikes by the Russian military beginning on 3 March.
