2025 Paris–Roubaix
The 2025 Paris–Roubaix was a road bicycle racing, road cycling one-day race that took place on 13 April 2025 in France. It was the 122nd edition of Paris–Roubaix and the 16th event of the 2025 UCI World Tour. The race was won by Dutch rider Mathieu van der Poel of for the third year in succession, after a battle with world champion Tadej Pogačar of . Van der Poel became the eighth rider to win the race three times, and the third rider to win three times in succession after Octave Lapize in the early 1900s and Francesco Moser in the late 1970s. The race was marked by decisive attacks by van der Poel, Pogačar and Pedersen. Pogačar crashed with around remaining, falling back after having to change his bicycle. Leading the race solo, van der Poel was hit in the face by a water bottle thrown by a member of the crowd, before puncturing on the Carrefour de l'Arbre sector of cobblestones. 2025 UCI World Tour
The 2025 UCI World Tour is a series of races that includes thirty-six events throughout the 2025 in men's road cycling, 2025 cycling season. The tour started with the 2025 Tour Down Under, Tour Down Under on 21 January, and will conclude with the 2025 Tour of Guangxi, Tour of Guangxi on 19 October. Events The race calendar for the 2025 season was announced in June 2024, with thirty-six races scheduled. The calendar was similar to 2024 UCI World Tour, 2024, with a new one-day race in Denmark, the Copenhagen Sprint. In October 2024, the final calendar was confirmed. Teams The eighteen UCI WorldTeam, WorldTeams were automatically invited to compete in events, with the top two UCI ProTeams listed on the 2024 UCI World Ranking ( and ) also invited automatically. Greg LeMond
Gregory James LeMond (born June 26, 1961) is an American former Road bicycle racing, road racing cyclist. He won the Tour de France thrice and the UCI Road World Championships – Men's road race, Road Race World Championship twice, becoming the only American male to win the former. LeMond began his professional cycling career in 1981. Two years later, LeMond became the first American male cyclist to win the Road World Championship. He won the Tour de France in 1986, becoming the first non-European professional cyclist to win the men's Tour. LeMond was accidentally shot with pellets and seriously injured while hunting in 1987. Fred Wright (cyclist)
Alfred Brockwell Wright (born 13 June 1999) is a British racing cyclist, who currently rides for UCI WorldTeam . Career Originally from south east London, Wright moved to Manchester at the age of 18 to join the British Cycling Senior Academy, with a focus on the track. In August 2019, Wright joined UCI WorldTeam as a stagiaire for the second half of the season. In November 2019 it was announced that Wright was joining the team, later renamed as for the 2020 season. He was recruited to the team by Rod Ellingworth, the outfit's general manager, who had previously worked for the British Cycling Senior Academy. Florian Vermeersch
Florian Vermeersch (born 12 March 1999) is a Belgian professional racing cyclist, who currently rides for UCI WorldTeam . Career (2020–2024) On 1 June 2020, Vermeersch was promoted from the team's under-23 development squad. Formerly, Vermeersch competed in cyclo-cross, in which he was highly successful. While being a professional cyclist, he is studying history at Ghent University. In 2021, he placed third in the UCI Road World Under–23 men's time trial. Roubaix Velodrome
The Roubaix Velodrome (officially Vélodrome André-Pétrieux) is a velodrome in Roubaix, Nord, France. It was opened in 1936 and has hosted the finish of the one-day " monument classic" cycling race Paris–Roubaix since 1943, and the Paris–Roubaix Femmes since its inception in 2021. The race moved to the current stadium in 1943, and there it has stayed with the exceptions of 1986, 1987 and 1988 when the finish was in the avenue des Nations-Unies, outside the offices of La Redoute, the mail-order company which sponsored the race. The shower room inside the velodrome is distinctive for the open, three-sided, low-walled concrete stalls, each with a brass plaque to commemorate a winner.
