2025 North Carolina Education Lottery 250
The 2025 North Carolina Education Lottery 250 was the 10th stock car race of the 2025 NASCAR Xfinity Series, and the 1st iteration of the event. The race was held on Saturday, April 19, 2025, at Rockingham Speedway in Rockingham, North Carolina, a permanent oval shaped racetrack. The race was originally scheduled to be contested over 250 laps, but was increased to 256 laps due to an overtime restart. In an action-packed and wreck-filled race, Sammy Smith, driving for JR Motorsports, would be given the victory following post-race inspection, after the original winner of the race, Jesse Love, was disqualified for a rear suspension violation, and was credited with a 37th place finish. Rockingham Speedway
Rockingham Speedway and Entertainment Complex (formerly known as North Carolina Speedway from 1998 to 2007 and North Carolina Motor Speedway from 1965 to 1996) is a D-shaped oval track in Rockingham, North Carolina, United States. The track has held a variety of events since its opening in 1965, including the NASCAR Cup Series from 1965 to 2004, and currently the NASCAR Xfinity Series and NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series. It has a 32,000-seat capacity as of 2012. Rockingham Speedway is owned by Rockingham Properties, LLC and led by Rockingham Properties majority owner Dan Lovenheim. Stock car racing events in the NASCAR Xfinity Series have been held at Bristol Motor Speedway, in Bristol, Tennessee during numerous seasons and times of year since the series’ inception in 1982. From 2021 to 2023, the series has had one date. However, when the 2025 schedule was announced, the series returned to 2 dates. The Dash 4 Cash is a bonus program for race winners for designated races in a NASCAR Xfinity Series season. Since its inception in 2009, the program has undergone many changes, most notably the addition of heat races in 2016 for qualification for the bonus that were scrapped the following year. 2009–10: Inception In order to drum up interest in its second-tier series, NASCAR made the Dash 4 Cash before the 2009 season. The original format included four races where all series regulars not competing in the Sprint Cup Series full-time could compete to win a $25,000 bonus on top of their race winnings if they won. AM Racing is an American professional stock car racing team that competes in the NASCAR Xfinity Series fielding the No. 25 Ford Mustang Dark Horse full-time for Harrison Burton.
