2025 Indiana Hoosiers Baseball Team
The 2025 Indiana Hoosiers baseball team is a college baseball team that will represent Indiana University in the 2025 NCAA Division I baseball season. The Hoosiers are a member of the Big Ten Conference and play their home games at Bart Kaufman Field in Bloomington, Indiana, and are led by seventh-year head coach Jeff Mercer. Previous season The Hoosiers finished the 2024 NCAA Division I baseball season 33-26-1 (15-9 conference) good for 3rd place in the Big Ten standings. As the No. 3 seed in the Big Ten tournament, they would beat No. 6 Purdue in the first round, No. 7 Ohio State in the second round, but would lose to No. 2 Nebraska in the semifinals. Jeffery Daniel Mercer (born July 25, 1985) is an American college baseball coach and former first baseman. He is head baseball coach at Indiana University. He played college baseball at the University of Dayton from 2005 to 2007 before transferring to Wright State University to play in 2008 and 2009. The Ohio State Buckeyes baseball team is the college baseball team of Ohio State University. The program, founded in 1881, was the first athletic team in Ohio State history. Bill Davis Stadium in Columbus, Ohio, has been the home field of the program since 1997. The team won a National Title in 1966, and also 14 Big Ten Titles throughout the team's history. The 2024 Tennessee Volunteers baseball team represented the University of Tennessee in the 2024 NCAA Division I baseball season. The Volunteers played their home games at Lindsey Nelson Stadium. The Volunteers won the College World Series, defeating the Texas A&M Aggies in the championship series. In addition to winning the first national championship in program history, Tennessee tied the NCAA record for most wins in a season (60). The Southern Miss Golden Eagles baseball team represents the University of Southern Mississippi in NCAA Division I college baseball. They participate as a member of the Sun Belt Conference. Bart Kaufman Field
Bart Kaufman Field is a baseball field in Bloomington, Indiana. It is home of the Indiana Hoosiers baseball team. The capacity of the facility is 2,500 spectators. It is named after Bart Kaufman, an alumnus who played from 1960–1962. In 1961 he was the second-leading hitter (.452) in the Big Ten to longtime Detroit Tigers player Bill Freehan of the University of Michigan. Kaufman pledged $2.5 million to get the project going. Many teammates contributed to name the Indiana dugout after longtime baseball coach Ernie Andres. The 2024 Big Ten baseball tournament was held at Charles Schwab Field Omaha in Omaha, Nebraska, from May 21 through May 26, and aired on the Big Ten Network. As the tournament winner, Nebraska earned the Big Ten Conference's automatic bid to the 2024 NCAA Division I baseball tournament. Format and seeding The 2024 tournament was a double-elimination tournament among the top eight Big Ten Conference baseball teams with the best regular season winning percentage.
