The 2025 Copa LFP - FPF, was the planned 1st edition of the Copa LFP - FPF, Peru's domestic football cup competition. The tournament was going to be disputed by 36 teams and the champion was going to qualify for the Copa Sudamericana. On 11 February 2025, it was announced the 2025 edition was cancelled and will be held in 2026. Schedule The schedule of the competition was to take place during the 2025 FIFA International Match Calendar. Teams 36 teams were going to take part in this edition: 19 from the Liga 1, 15 from the Liga 2 and 2 invited teams from the Liga 3. Copa LFP - FPF
The Copa LFP - FPF, also known as the Copa LFP, will be an annual football cup competition in Peru. The tournament will be contested between 36 teams of the Liga 1, Liga 2 and Liga 3. The winners will qualify for the following year's Copa Sudamericana. History Peru has never had an official domestic cup competition. Multiple attempts were made but none were successful, with many competitions being made every few years and lasting only a couple seasons. The Torneo del Inca and Copa Bicentenario were the two predecessors of the tournament but were dissolved after numerous cancellations by the Peruvian Football Federation. In 2024, the FPF announced that in 2025 there will be a new cup competition in Peru, initially called Copa de la Liga Peruana. Deportivo Binacional Fútbol Club, formerly Escuela Municipal Deportivo Binacional, known as just Binacional, is a Peruvian professional football club from Juliaca in the Puno Region. Academia Deportiva Cantolao is a Peruvian football club based in the city of Callao, Peru. However, the club is mostly known for its youth academy.
