2025 Boston Marathon
The 2025 Boston Marathon was the 129th official edition of the Boston Marathon, annual marathon race in Boston, Massachusetts, held on Monday, . It was a World Athletics Label Road Races, Platinum Label marathon, one of seven World Marathon Majors scheduled for 2025 and the second to be run, following the 2025 Tokyo Marathon of early March. In early April, organizers announced that Bill Rodgers (runner), Bill Rodgers, four-time winner of the event, and Bob Hall, "the father of wheelchair racing", would serve as Grand Marshal (parade dignitary), grand marshals. Each won their division in the 1975 Boston Marathon. 2025 Tokyo Marathon
The 2025 Tokyo Marathon was the 18th edition of the annual marathon race in Tokyo, held on Sunday, 2 March 2025. A Platinum Label marathon, it was the first of seven World Marathon Majors events to be held in 2025. Ethiopians Tadese Takele and Sutume Kebede won the men's and women's races, respectively, with Kebede successfully defending her 2024 title. Yalemzerf Yehualaw Densa (born 3 August 1999) is an Ethiopian long-distance runner. She won the 2022 London Marathon. Yehualaw is the current world record holder in the 10 kilometres road race, sits second on the world all-time list at the half marathon and tenth on the respective world all-time list for the marathon. Yehualaw recorded the then-fastest ever women's marathon debut at the time at the 2022 Hamburg Marathon. Amane Beriso Shankule (born 13 October 1991) is an Ethiopian long-distance runner. In 2023, she won the marathon at the 2023 World Athletics Championships in Budapest. In 2022, she improved her marathon personal best by nearly six minutes to take the win at the 2022 Valencia Marathon, placing third on the world all-time list. Hellen Onsando Obiri (born 13 December 1989) is a Kenyan middle- and long-distance runner. She is the only woman to have won world titles in indoor track, outdoor track and cross country.
