2025 Angel City FC Season
The 2025 Angel City FC season is the team's fourth season as a professional Women's association football, women's soccer team. Angel City FC plays in the National Women's Soccer League (NWSL), the top tier of women's soccer in the United States. Background Coaching changes After a disappointing 2024 season where Angel City ending up ranking 12th out of 14 clubs, failing to reach the NWSL playoffs, on December 5, 2024, Angel City announced that they had mutually agreed to part ways with General Manager, Angela Hucles, who had first joined the club as VP of Player Development in 2021. Assistant General Manager, Matt Wade, assumed the role of interim General Manager while the club conducts a comprehensive search for a new General Manager. Following the departure of Hucles, Angel City then announced the departure of Head Coach Becki Tweed on December 9, 2024. Angel City Football Club is an American professional Association football, soccer team based in Los Angeles, California, that competes in the National Women's Soccer League (NWSL). The formation of the team was announced on July 21, 2020; it began play in the 2022 National Women's Soccer League season, 2022 season. Eleri Earnshaw (born 17 May 1985) is a Welsh football coach and former player who is the assistant coach for Angel City FC of the National Women's Soccer League (NWSL). She was previously the acting head coach and assistant coach of the Fordham Rams women's soccer team; co-head coach of NJ/NY Gotham FC Reserves in 2021, leading them to a Women's Premier Soccer League conference championship and earning conference Coach of the Year honors; head coach of LIU Sharks women's soccer; and an assistant coach for Central Connecticut and Yale. Hannah Stambaugh (born 24 December 1998) is a Japanese professional footballer who plays as a goalkeeper for NWSL club Angel City FC. Junior career Stambaugh joined JFA Academy Fukushima in 2011.
