2024–25 Spain Cup
The 2024–25 Spain Cup was the inaugural edition of the Spain Cup, a men's basketball competition created with the aim to replace the Copa Princesa de Asturias and the Copa LEB Plata. It was played by teams competing in the 2024–25 season of the Primera FEB and the Segunda FEB. Silbö San Pablo Burgos achieved the first title of the history of the competition in front of its supporters devoted to their team. Across mainland Spain, match times up to 26 October 2024 are CEST (UTC+2) and from 27 October 2024 are CET (UTC+1); matches played in the Canary Islands up to 26 October 2024 use the WEST (UTC+1) and from 27 October 2024 are WET (UTC+0). Schedule and format In the summer of 2024, the Spanish Basketball Federation released the calendar of the new competition. Qualified teams The following teams qualified for the competition. Spain Cup
The Spain Cup (Spanish: ''Copa España'') is a annual 2nd-tier level league cup competition for Spanish basketball teams, that is organized by the Spanish Basketball Federation (FEB). It is contested annually by clubs from Primera FEB and Segunda FEB, Spain's 2nd and 3rd-tier level leagues. It was played for the first time in the 2024–25 season. History On 24 May 2024, the Spanish Basketball Federation announced the creation of the new Spain Cup with the aim to replace the Copa Princesa de Asturias and the Copa LEB Plata by merging both competitions. It made its debut in the 2024–25 season. Format For the 2024–25 season, 40 teams from Primera FEB and Segunda FEB joined the competition in its first stage, and were divided into 8 groups of five teams. Baloncesto Fuenlabrada, Sociedad Anónima Deportiva, S.A.D., known as Flexicar Fuenlabrada because of sponsorship reasons, or just as Fuenlabrada, is a professional basketball team based in Fuenlabrada, Spain. Amics del Bàsquet Castelló, also known as TAU Castelló for sponsorship reasons, is a basketball team based in Castellón de la Plana, Spain. It was founded in 1994 and currently plays in LEB Oro. Real Madrid's coach Pablo Laso started his coach career in this team, in the 2003–2004 LEB 2 season. Oviedo Club Baloncesto, also known as Alimerka Oviedo Baloncesto for sponsorship reasons, is a professional basketball team based in Oviedo, Asturias, that plays in the Spanish LEB Oro league. History First years Oviedo CB was founded in 2004 to substitute old CB Vetusta, today dissolved. Palencia Baloncesto, officially named as Super Agropal Palencia, is a Spanish professional basketball team based in Palencia, Castile and León. The team currently plays in league Primera FEB.
