USL W League
The USL W League (USLW) is a pre-professional women's soccer league in the United States which began play in May 2022. It was announced on June 8, 2021 by the United Soccer League with eight founding clubs. It follows the USL W-League, a similar league that existed from 1995 to 2015. At launch, the USL said the inaugural season would include at least 30 teams. History The league was originally announced with eight clubs, six of which would be women's sides for existing men's USL teams, and two of which would be entirely new franchises. The inaugural season began on May 6, 2022 with 44 teams. WTVR-TV (channel 6) is a television station in Richmond, Virginia, United States, affiliated with CBS and owned by the E. W. Scripps Company. California Storm
California Storm is an American women's soccer team, founded in 1995 as the Sacramento Storm, dropping the city name in favor of California the following season. The team is a member of the Women's Premier Soccer League, the second tier of women's soccer in the United States. The team plays in the North Division of the Pacific Conference. The team was a founding member of the W-League, then left in 1998 to become one of the founding teams of the WPSL. The team plays its home games in the stadium of Davis Legacy Sports Complex in Sacramento, California. The club's colors are white and navy blue. Oakland Soul Sports Club is an American professional Association football, soccer team based in Oakland, California. The club was formed in 2024 as the women's team of Oakland Roots SC, and began play in the USL W League in the summer of 2023. Florida Elite Soccer Academy is a soccer club in St. Johns, Florida, competing in the Southeast Division of USL League Two. Founded in 2014 through a merger, led by Steven Mail, of two northeastern clubs in Florida, Florida Elite Soccer Academy launched as a youth program. Eagle Fighting Championship (EFC), commonly referred to as Eagle FC, is a Russian mixed martial arts promotion company established in 2020 by former UFC Lightweight Champion Khabib Nurmagomedov. It was renamed to Eagle Fighting Championship (EFC) after Nurmagomedov bought Gorilla Fighting Championship (GFC) for $1 million. History In November 2020, Khabib Nurmagomedov bought the Russian MMA promotion Gorilla Fighting Championship (formerly known as Federation of MMA of Samara), for $1 million and renamed it to Eagle Fighting Championship (EFC). Long Island Rough Riders (women)
The Long Island Rough Riders, formerly known as the Long Island Lady Riders, is an American women's soccer team, based out of Long Island, New York. Founded in 1994, the team was under the ownership of Chuck Jacob, who at the time also owned the men's Long Island Rough Riders up until 1997 before selling it to Frank Boulton. At this time, the Rough Riders transitioned names and became known as the Lady Riders for several years. In 2007, the Rough Riders acquired territorial and franchise rights to the women's Lady Riders team. For the first time since 1997, the men's and women's teams would be under the same name and they have been ever since. FC Olympia, formerly Oly Town Artesians FC, is an American soccer club from Olympia, Washington.
