2024 Southeastern Conference Softball Tournament
The 2024 Southeastern Conference Softball Tournament, played for the 2024 Southeastern Conference softball season, was the postseason softball tournament that determined the 2024 champion of the Southeastern Conference. It was held at Jane B. Moore Field in Auburn, Alabama from May 7–11, 2024. As the tournament winner, Florida earned the Southeastern Conference's automatic bid to the 2024 NCAA Division I softball tournament. All 12 tournament games were televised, the earlier nine games on the SEC Network and the semifinals and the championship game on ESPN2. Format All thirteen teams will be seeded based on conference winning percentage. They then will play a single-elimination tournament, with the top four seeds receiving a single bye, and the bottom two playing the first-round game on May 9. The SEC softball tournament (sometimes known simply as the SEC tournament) is the conference championship tournament in college softball for the Southeastern Conference (SEC). The 2024 Arkansas Razorbacks softball team represented the University of Arkansas in the 2024 NCAA Division I softball season. The Razorbacks were led by ninth-year head coach Courtney Deifel and played their home games at Bogle Park in Fayetteville, Arkansas. 2024 NCAA Division I Softball Tournament
The 2024 NCAA Division I softball tournament was held from May 17 through June 6, 2024, as the final part of the 2024 NCAA Division I softball season. The tournament ended with the 2024 Women's College World Series at Devon Park in Oklahoma City. Oklahoma won the 2024 Women's College World Series, becoming the first team in college softball history to four-peat. Dayton, Siena and Southeastern Louisiana made their NCAA Division I softball tournament debuts. All 13 softball playing schools of the Southeastern Conference were selected for the tournament. Tim Walton (softball)
Timothy Ian Walton (born August 6, 1972) is an American college softball coach and a former college and professional baseball player. Walton is currently the head coach of the Florida Gators softball team of the University of Florida. He has a 980-238 (.811) record at Florida. He is a five-time Southeastern Conference Softball Coach of the Year, SEC Coach of the Year and helped the Gators set the SEC single-season record wins at 27 and NCAA single-season record wins at 70 in 2008. Ten years later, he helped them set the NCAA record for the most walks at 360 that season. The 2024 SEC softball season began play Thursday, February 8, and conference play began Friday, March 8. The 2024 Southeastern Conference softball tournament took place May 7–11 at Jane B. Moore Field in Auburn, Alabama. Vanderbilt University is the only full member of the Southeastern Conference to not sponsor a softball program. SEC preseason poll The head coaches SEC preseason poll was released on January 25, 2024. Each head coach voted on a scale of 12 points for first place down to 1 point for last place, 12th. Each coach only voted for 12 teams, since they can not vote for their own team. Tennessee was picked to finish 1st, with six 1st place votes. Georgia was 2nd with six 1st place votes.
