Stefano Bonaccini (born 1 January 1967) is an Italian politician and member of the Democratic Party (PD). He has been serving as the president of Emilia-Romagna since 24 November 2014. Bonaccini started his political career in the post-communist Democratic Party of the Left (PDS), and has later assumed more social democratic positions, becoming one of the main representatives of PD's reformist wing. 2024 Emilia-Romagna Regional Election
The 2024 Emilia-Romagna regional election will take place in Emilia-Romagna, Italy, on 17–18 November 2024. The elections were called following Stefano Bonaccini's election to the European Parliament, a position incompatible with his post as the regional president. Lega ( en, League), whose official name is Lega per Salvini Premier ( en, League for Salvini Premier; abbr. LSP or LpSP), is a right-wing populist political party in Italy, led by Matteo Salvini. The LSP is the informal successor of Lega Nord ( en, Northern League, LN) and, while sharing the latter's heartland in northern Italy, it is active all around the country. 2024 Umbrian Regional Election
The 2024 Umbrian regional election will be held on 17 and 18 November 2024. Electoral system The candidate who obtains a plurality of votes on a regional level is elected President of Umbria and the winning coalition receives 60% of the seats in the Legislative Assembly, i.e. 12 seats, excluding the seat reserved to the president. All other candidates for president who have not been elected but are linked to lists or coalitions that have elected at least one councillor are automatically elected to the Legislative Assembly. The allocation of seats by coalitions and lists takes place on a proportional basis using a largest remainder method with open lists, with a 2.5% threshold for all lists and with a maximum limit of 10 seats obtainable for a single list. Giovanni Toti (born 7 September 1968) is an Italian journalist and politician, who has been President of Liguria since June 2015. Toti was also elected to the European Parliament, following the 2014 European Parliament election. Biography Born in Viareggio in 1968, Toti grew up in Massa Carrara where the family ran a hotel, and he has lived for many years with his family and parents in Bocca di Magra, Ameglia, in the province of La Spezia, Liguria.
