2024 Israeli Municipal Elections
Municipal elections in Israel took place on 27 February 2024 amidst the ongoing Israel–Hamas war. In accordance with changes made in 2018 Israeli municipal elections, 2018, election day will be a paid day off work. All Municipality, municipalities, Local council (Israel), local councils and Regional council (Israel), regional councils will be up for election, as will their leaders. Top-two runoffs will be held in all localities where no leadership candidate won 40% or more of the vote in the first round. Voters in municipalities and local councils choose their leader and council in two separate ballots that are colored yellow and white respectively. Voters in regional councils also vote for a Local committee (Israel), local committee using ballots that are colored blue. Domicile is relevant to an individual's "personal law," which includes the law that governs a person's status and their property. It is independent of a person's nationality. Although a domicile may change from time to time, a person has only one domicile, or residence, at any point in their life, no matter what their circumstances. Al-Batuf Regional Council ( ar, البطوف, he, מועצה אזורית אל-בטוף, ''Mo'atza Azorit al-Batuf'') is a regional council located on the southern fringe of the Beit Netofa Valley North of Nazareth within the Northern District of Israel. Kulanu
Kulanu ( he, כולנו, lit. ''All of Us'') was a centrist political party in Israel founded by Moshe Kahlon that focused on economic and cost-of-living issues. History The party was established on 27 November 2014 following months of speculation that Kahlon would form a new party after he took a break from politics in 2013. Opinion polls in the summer of 2014 had suggested that a new party formed by Kahlon could win 5–8 seats in the Knesset. Meretz
Meretz ( he, מֶרֶצ, ) is a left-wing political party in Israel. The party was formed in 1992 by the merger of Ratz, Mapam and Shinui, and was at its peak between 1992 and 1996 when it had 12 seats. It currently has no seats in the Knesset, following its failure to pass the electoral threshold in the 2022 elections. The Jewish Home ( he, הַבַּיִת הַיְהוּדִי, HaBayit HaYehudi) is an Orthodox Jewish and religious Zionist political party in Israel. It was originally formed by a merger of the National Religious Party, Moledet, and Tkuma in November 2008. However, Moledet broke away from the party after its top representative was placed only 17th on the new party's list for the 2009 Knesset elections, and instead ran on a joint list with Hatikva. Tkuma later also left to join the National Union. For the 2013 elections, the Jewish Home and Tkuma parties ran a joint list under the leadership of the chairman of the Jewish Home, Naftali Bennett. Channel 14 (Israel)
Channel 14 ( he, ערוץ 14; ) is an Israeli commercial television channel aimed at a right-wing audience. In 2021, it was announced that Channel 20 will be rebranded to Now 14 ( he, עכשיו 14) and subsequently moved to the 14th slot on TV receivers, right after Reshet 13. The move happened on 28 November that year. The channel moved studios a couple times, and their most recent move was on the 28th of November 2021, when they moved to their current studio in Modi'in. The channel primarily features news programming and, occasionally, religious programming, though the quantity of religious programs has been on a decline as the channel shifted to a more news-oriented approach over the years.
