2024 Egypt Cup Final
The 2024 Egypt Cup final was the final match of the 2023–24 Egypt Cup, the 92nd edition of the competition since its establishment in 1921. It was played between Pyramids FC, Pyramids and ZED FC, ZED on 30 August 2024 at Borg El Arab Stadium in Alexandria. Both teams were looking to win their first ever Egypt Cup title. This marked Pyramids' third appearance in the final match of the competition, having previously lost the 2019 Egypt Cup final, 2019 and 2022 Egypt Cup final, 2022 finals against Zamalek SC, Zamalek and Al Ahly SC, Al Ahly, respectively. ZED on the other hand played the final of a major tournament for the first time in their history. The Borg El Arab Stadium (), sometimes referred to as the Egyptian Army Stadium or El Geish Stadium - Alexandria (), is a stadium commissioned in 2005 in the Mediterranean Sea city of Amreya; 25 km west of Alexandria, Egypt. It is the second largest stadium in Egypt (after Misr Stadium) and the third largest in Africa (after FNB Stadium in Johannesburg) with a capacity of 86,000 and is an all-seater. 2023–24 Egyptian League Cup
The 2023–24 Egyptian League Cup was the third edition of the Egyptian League Cup, a cup knockout competition open to all clubs participating in the Egyptian Premier League. The competition began on 8 January, and concluded with the final on 7 August 2024. Defending champions Ceramica Cleopatra successfully defended their title as they beat Tala'ea El Gaish 3–1 in the final, winning their second League Cup trophy and second major title in the club's history. In association football, a penalty shoot-out (previously known as kicks from the penalty mark) is a tie-breaking method to determine which team is awarded victory in a match that cannot end in a tie (draw), draw, when the score is tied after the normal time as well as Overtime (sports)#Association football, extra time (if used) has expired.
