Ahmed Samy Saad Abou El Einain (, born 1 April 1992) is an Egyptian footballer who plays for Pyramids as a centre-back and the Egypt national team. Club career Early career Samy started his career at El Khatib Football Academy, after playing well and showing great discipline in the Pepsi Schools League. Before participating in the Pepsi Schools League he had a trial with Egyptian giants Al Ahly youth team, but failed to pass all tests because of an injury. After staying with El Khatib Football Academy for almost 4 years, he was signed by Al Nasr at the age of 15. Al Nasr Samy played 2 seasons with the reserve team before being promoted to the first team in 2009, which was playing in the Egyptian Second Division at that time. The 2013–14 Egyptian Premier League was the fifty-seventh season of the Egyptian Premier League since its establishment in 1948. It started on December 26, 2013 and ended on July 7, 2014 Clubs A total of 65 clubs have played in the Egyptian Premier League from its inception in 1948–49 up to and including the 2013–14 season. But only two clubs have been members of the Egyptian Premier League for every season since its inception. They are Al Ahly and Zamalek. The league consists of 2 groups each of 11 clubs. The 2013 Egyptian coup d'etat took place on 3 July 2013. Egyptian army chief General Abdel Fattah al-Sisi led a coalition to remove the democratically elected President of Egypt, Mohamed Morsi, from power and suspended the Egyptian constitution of 2012. The move came after the military's ultimatum for the government to "resolve its differences" with protesters during widespread national protests. The military arrested Morsi and Muslim Brotherhood leaders, and declared Chief Justice of the Supreme Constitutional Court Adly Mansour as the interim president of Egypt. The announcement was followed by demonstrations and clashes between supporters and opponents of the move throughout Egypt. There were mixed international reactions to the events. Port Said Stadium Riot
On 1 February 2012, a massive riot occurred at Port Said Stadium in Port Said, Egypt, following an Egyptian Premier League football match between Masry and Ahly. Seventy-four people were killed and more than 500 were injured after thousands of Al Masry fans stormed the stadium stands and the pitch following a 3–1 victory by their club, and violently attacked Ahly fans using clubs, stones, machetes, knives, bottles and fireworks, trapping them inside the El Ahly partition of the stadium. Many of the deaths were due to police refusal to open the stadium gates, trapping the Ahly fans inside, leaving some to die, and killing others in a stampede while trying to escape.
