2024 ASEAN Futsal Championship
The 2024 ASEAN Futsal Championship was the 18th edition of the ASEAN Futsal Championship, organized by the ASEAN Football Federation (AFF) in the sport of futsal. Previously known as the "AFF Futsal Championship" this tournament was known as the "ASEAN Futsal Championship" starting this edition. The tournament was held in Nakhon Ratchasima, Thailand from 2 to 10 November 2024. Thailand were the sixteen-time defending champions, but were eliminated in the semi-final by Indonesia, the first time the team had not made the final at the tournament. Venue All matches were held at the Terminal Hall in the Terminal 21 Korat shopping center in Nakhon Ratchasima. Teams Entrants There was no qualification, and all entrants advanced to the final tournament. The following 9 teams from member associations of the ASEAN Football Federation entered the tournament. 2003 AFF Futsal Championship
The 2003 AFF Futsal Championship was held in Kuantan, Malaysia from 1 to 6 July 2003. Cambodia were the original hosts for this edition of the tournament but were unable to get their venue ready in time. Subsequently, the ASEAN Football Federation requested Malaysia to take over as hosts. Same as the previous tournament which were held in odd years, the tournament serves as AFC Futsal Championship qualification. The tournament will be held in November 2018 in Yogyakarta, Indonesia Cambodia participate in this tournament after being absent 6 years. The last edition they played before was in 2012. The 2017 AFF Futsal Championship will be the 14th edition of the tournament. The tournament will be second AFF Futsal Championship to be held in 2017, with the first one originally meant to be hosted in 2016 to be held in early 2017. The tournament served as qualifiers for the 2018 AFC Futsal Championship. Draw The draw was held on 17 February 2017 during the AFF Council Meeting at the Novotel Yangon Max Hotel in Yangon, Myanmar. 2016 AFF Futsal Championship
The 2016 AFF Futsal Championship is the 13th edition of the tournament which been held from 23 January 2017 to 29 January 2017. It was initially planned to be held from 31 October to 6 November 2016. Following the death of King Bhumibol Adulyadej, the Football Association of Thailand postponed to host the 2016 AFF Futsal Championship. Football Association of Indonesia (PSSI) offered to host 2016 AFF Futsal Championship after Thailand postponed. The event was rescheduled to 9 – 15 November 2016. On 21 October 2016, AFF officially announced that the event will be cancelled due to the withdrawing from being the host of PSSI. AFF asked Singapore to be the new host but they were unable to operate the event in short time of the preparation. 2015 AFF Futsal Championship
The 2015 AFF Futsal Championship was the 12th edition of the tournament which was held in Thailand from 8 to 16 October 2015. This edition will also act as a qualification tournament for the 2016 AFC Futsal Championship. A statement in June stated that Thailand and Australia were already assured of qualification to the 2016 AFC Championship, due to their positioning in the previous (2014) edition. This was later modified back so that those who reach the semi-finals shall qualify. Singapore participated at the tournament after a 13-year absence, last participating at the inaugural edition in 2001. Teams The tournament was originally set to be hosted by Indonesia but the country's national football association was suspended by FIFA, barring the country from both hosting and participating in the tournament. 2012 AFF Futsal Championship
The 2012 AFF Futsal Championship was the ninth edition of the tournament which was held in Bangkok, Thailand from 19 April to 27 April 2012. It was originally scheduled for the 17 to 27 April but was moved back by two days at the request of the Timor-Leste Football Federation due to the majority of their players coming from the Police Force who are required to vote in the local elections, and would not be able to leave the country without doing so.
