2023 Tyson 250
The 2023 Tyson 250 was the 10th Stock car racing, stock car race of the 2023 NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series, and the inaugural iteration of the Tyson 250, event. The race took place on Saturday, May 20, 2023, in North Wilkesboro, North Carolina at North Wilkesboro Speedway, a permanent oval-shaped racetrack. The race was increased from 250 to 252 laps, due to a Green–white–checker finish, NASCAR overtime finish. In a wreck-filled race that caused twelve cautions, Kyle Larson, driving for Spire Motorsports, would put on a dominating performance, winning stage two and leading 138 laps, earning his third career NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series win, and his first of the season. Pickup truck races in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series have been held at North Wilkesboro Speedway in North Carolina in 1995 and 1996, and since 2023 as part of NASCAR Cup Series NASCAR All-Star Race, All-Star Race weekend. The race is currently known as Window World 250 for sponsorship reasons. The first Truck Series race at North Wilkesboro in 1995 featured the return of Cup Series driver Ernie Irvan, who was not able to race for over a year after suffering an injury in the 1994 GM Goodwrench Dealer 400, 1994 Cup Series race at Michigan in August. North Wilkesboro Speedway
North Wilkesboro Speedway is a paved oval Oval track racing#Short track, short track in North Wilkesboro, North Carolina. The track has hosted a variety of racing events since its inaugural season of racing in 1947; primarily races sanctioned by NASCAR. The facility has a capacity of 25,000 as of 2023. North Wilkesboro Speedway is currently owned by Speedway Motorsports, Speedway Motorsports, LLC (SMI) and led by track director of operations Ronald Queen. ThorSport Racing is an American professional stock car racing team competing in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series. Founded in 1996 as SealMaster Racing and based in Sandusky, Ohio, the team is owned by Duke Thorson and his wife, Rhonda. Kristofer Cole Wright (born July 17, 1994) is an American professional stock car racing driver. He competes full-time in the NASCAR Xfinity Series, driving the No. 5 Chevrolet SS for Our Motorsports. The ASA Late Model Series was an American stock car racing series. Founded by Ron Varney in 2003 as the "USPRO Cup Series", it was renamed "ASA Late Model Series" when it was purchased by the American Speed Association in 2004. After financial difficulties during the 2004 season, the series was sold back to its founders, but retained the name.
