2023 Lebanese Federation Cup
The 2023 Lebanese Federation Cup was the sixth season of the Lebanese Federation Cup. The competition, held as a preparatory tournament prior to the start of the 2023–24 Lebanese Premier League season, was open to all clubs participating in the Lebanese Premier League. It started on 1 July 2023, and ended on 23 July with the final. After a 19-year hiatus, the competition was held for the first time since the 2004 Lebanese Federation Cup, 2004 edition. In 2023, the Lebanese Federation Cup replaced the Lebanese Elite Cup and Lebanese Challenge Cup as the pre-season preparatory tournament. Al Ahed FC, Ahed won the title, after defeating Al Ahli Club Nabatieh, Ahli Nabatieh 4–0 in the final. Format The first phase consisted of four groups of three teams, with the top four clubs of the previous league season as the seeded teams. Al Ahed Football Club () is a football club based in Ouzai, a district in Beirut, Lebanon, that competes in the Lebanese Premier League, the top flight of Lebanese football. The club was founded in 1964 as Al Ahed Al Jadeed, initially starting in the Third Division before reaching the Premier League for the first time in 1996. Al Ahed Stadium
Al Ahed Stadium () is a football field located in the Al-Ouzai area of Bourj el-Barajneh, in the southern suburbs of Beirut, Lebanon. The stadium can accommodate about 2,000 spectators, and is owned by Al Ahed FC, which uses it as a training ground. In 2018, Prime Minister of Israel, Israeli prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu accused Hezbollah, a Shia political party and militant group based in Lebanon, in a speech of using the Al Ahed Stadium as a missile cluster. Elhadji Malick Tall
Elhadji Malick Tall (born 25 January 1995) is a Senegalese professional footballer who plays as a striker. After playing for three seasons in Jordan, first for Al-Wehdat and then for Al-Ahli, he joined Lebanese side Ansar in 2017. He was the top scorer in the Lebanese Premier League in his first two seasons, scoring 15 and 20 goals respectively. In 2020, Tall joined Al-Riyadh in Saudi Arabia, where he was the Saudi Second Division top scorer with 22 goals in 2020–21. Tadamon Sporting Club Sour (), known as Tadamon Sour or simply Tadamon, is a football club based in Tyre, Lebanon, that competes in the , and is primarily supported by the Shia Muslim community. They play their home matches at the Tyre Municipal Stadium, and have won one Lebanese FA Cup and two Lebanese Challenge Cups. Al Ansar Football Club () is a football club based in Tariq El Jdideh, a district in Beirut, Lebanon, that competes in the . Formed in 1951, the club did not win its first Lebanese Premier League until 1988. They went on to set a world record by winning the league 11 seasons in a row. Mohamad Haidar
Mohamad Faouzi Haidar (, ; born 8 November 1989) is a Lebanese professional footballer who plays as a winger or attacking midfielder for club Ahed and captains the Lebanon national team. Coming through the youth system, Haidar began his senior career in 2008 at hometown club Tadamon Sour, before moving to Safa in 2011. Zein Farran
Zein Al Abdine Ghassan Farran (; born 21 July 1999) is a Lebanese footballer who plays as a winger for club Ahed and the Lebanon national team. Club career Farran began his career at Islah Borj Shmali, signing on 2 August 2017. On 15 August 2020, he joined Lebanese Premier League side Bourj. Farran moved to Ahed on 7 May 2021 on a free transfer, and was loaned out to Shabab Sahel for one year on 28 June 2022. Bhamdoun
Bhamdoun (), is a town in Lebanon from Beirut on the main road that leads to Damascus and in the suburbs of the main tourist city of Aley, lying at an altitude of above the Lamartine valley.
