2023 Belarusian Premier League
The 2023 Belarusian Premier League was the 33rd season of top-tier football in Belarus. Shakhtyor Soligorsk were the defending champions (although they were stripped of their title as a result of a match-fixing scandal). The winners ( Dinamo Minsk, their eighth title win) qualified for the 2024–25 Champions League first qualifying round. The 2023–24 Belarusian Cup winners qualify for the 2024–25 Conference League second qualifying round. The second and third-placed teams ( Neman Grodno and Torpedo-BelAZ Zhodino) (or fourth-placed team, Isloch Minsk Raion, if the Belarusian Cup winners finish in the top three of the Belarusian Premier League) qualify for the 2024–25 Conference League first qualifying round. The fourteenth-placed team ( Energetik-BGU Minsk) qualified for the Belarusian Premier League play-off, losing and being relegated to the 2024 Belarusian First League. Belarusian Premier League
The Belarusian Premier League or the Vyšejšaja Liha or the Vysheyshaya Liga ( be, Вышэйшая ліга, russian: Высшая лига, "Top League") is the top division of professional football in Belarus, and is organized by the Belarusian Football Federation. The number of teams in the competition has varied over the years from as high as 17 (1992–93 season) to as low as 11 (2012). As of 2016, the league included 16 teams. Each team plays every other team twice during the course of the season. At the end of the season, the two teams with the fewest points are automatically relegated to the Belarusian First League, while the third worst team plays a promotion-relegation playoff against the third best team from the second tier. The top two teams from the Belarusian First League automatically win promotion to the Premier League. 2024 Belarusian Premier League
The 2024 Belarusian Premier League is the 34th season of top-tier football in Belarus. Teams The league consisted of sixteen teams; the top thirteen teams from the previous season, and three teams promoted from the 2023 Belarusian First League. Dinamo Minsk entered the season as defending champions. Arsenal Dzerzhinsk and Dnepr Mogilev were promoted as champions and runners-up of the 2023 First League (replacing the bottom-placed Premier League team Belshina Bobruisk). Third-placed First League team Vitebsk defeated the second-bottom Premier League team Energetik-BGU Minsk in the 2023 Belarusian Premier League play-off, taking their place in the league. Barysaw ( be, Барысаў, ) or Borisov (russian: Борисов, ) is a city in Belarus near the Berezina River in the Minsk Region 74 km north-east from Minsk. Its population is around 145,000. The club competes in the Belarusian Premier League, of which they are the league's most successful club with 15 titles, including 13 won consecutively. FC Rogachev is a Belarusian football club based in Rogachev, Gomel Oblast. The club is also known as Maxline Rogachev due to sponsorship deal with the sports betting company. History The team was founded in 1983 as ''Avtomobilist Rogachev'' and was renamed to ''KSM Rogachev'' next year. 2022 Belarusian First League
The 2022 Belarusian First League is the 32nd season of second tier football in Belarus. It started in April and ended in November 2022. Team changes from 2021 season Two best teams of 2021 Belarusian First League (Arsenal Dzerzhinsk and Belshina Bobruisk) were promoted to Belarusian Premier League. They were replaced by 15th-placed team of 2021 Belarusian Premier League ( Smorgon). 16th-placed Premier League team Sputnik Rechitsa disbanded, leaving a vacancy in the First League. Due to low number of participants, no team has relegated to the Second League. In attempt to bring the number of teams to 16, 5 best teams were initially promoted from the Second League ( Ostrovets, Rogachev, Partizan Soligorsk, Osipovichi and BGU Minsk). FC Dnepr Mogilev ( be, ФК Дняпро Магілёў, ''FK Dniapro Mahilyow''; russian: ФК Днепр Могилёв) is a Belarusian football team, playing in the city of Mogilev. Their home stadium is Spartak Stadium. History Dnepr Mogilev was founded in 1960 under the name Khimik Mogilev and began playing in the Class B (second tier league) of Soviet championship, which at the time consisted of over 140 teams split into several regional zones. In 1963, the team relegated to the third tier due to league structure reorganization and changed their name to Spartak Mogilev. In 1970, they dropped to the fourth tier, but the next year were brought back to the third, both times due to further league reorganizations.
