The 2023 Abu Dhabi Masters was a badminton tournament which took place at the ADNEC Marina Hall in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, from 17 to 22 October 2023 and had a total prize of US$120,000. Tournament The 2023 Abu Dhabi Masters was the twenty-sixth tournament according to the 2023 BWF World Tour. It was the inaugural edition of the Abu Dhabi Masters. This tournament was organized by 316 sport services In association with the UAE Badminton Federation with sanction from the BWF. Venue This tournament was held at the ADNEC Marina Hall in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emitates. Point distribution Below is the point distribution table for each phase of the tournament based on the BWF points system for the BWF Tour Super 100 event. Prize money The total prize money for this tournament was US$120,000. Distribution of prize money was in accordance with BWF regulations. Arnaud Merklé
Arnaud-Sylvain-André Merklé (; born 25 April 2000) is a French badminton player from Staffelfelden. He was the boys singles European Junior Champion in 2018, and also part of the national junior team that clinched the mixed team title in 2017 and 2018. He participated at the 2018 Summer Youth Olympics in Buenos Aires, Argentina, and reached the boys' singles bronze medal match losing to Kodai Naraoka of Japan in the rubber game. Career In 2022, Merklé reached his first BWF World Tour final at the Syed Modi International. The final match between Merklé and his compatriot Lucas Claerbout was called off after Merklé tested positive for COVID-19. Both players were later awarded as runner-up with 5.950 ranking point. Collins Valentine Filimon
Collins Valentine Filimon (born 14 February 1998) is a Romanian-born badminton player who is currently representing Austria. He plays for the ASKÖ Traun badminton club. He represented Austria in badminton at the 2024 Summer Olympics. Career Filimon joined the Romanian national team in 2012. He won the boys' singles title at the Cyprus Junior International in 2014 and 2015. He also won a silver medal in mixed doubles at the 2015 U19 Balkan Badminton Championships with Catalina Simionescu. In 2016, Filimon reached the semi-finals of the Balkan Badminton Championships but had to settle for bronze after losing 16–21, 18–21 to Ivan Rusev of Bulgaria. Henry Huang (born 25 August 2001) is an English badminton player. Career Huang started playing club badminton for the All Stars in Milton Keynes and won the U15 singles European gold medal. He attended the University of Nottingham. Huang came to prominence in 2023, after winning the Egypt International in Cairo. In 2024, he became the English singles champion. Mark Caljouw
Mark Caljouw (born 25 January 1995) is a Dutch badminton player. He started playing badminton aged eight, at BC Randstad in Rijswijk. Career Caljouw was selected to join the national team in 2008, and made a debut in international senior tournament in 2012. Caljouw competed at the 2013 European Junior Championships in Ankara, Turkey, winning a silver medal in the boys' singles event, and also a bronze medal in the mixed team event. He was selected by Badminton Europe to join the Player Development Plan "Future Stars". Caljouw won the men's singles National Championships title in 2017, beating defending champion Erik Meijs in the semi-finals and first seeded Nick Fransman in the final.
