2022 Super Taikyu Series
The 2022 Eneos Super Taikyu Series Powered by Hankook was the thirty-second season of the Super Taikyu Series endurance racing championship. The season started on 20 March and ended on 27 November at Suzuka International Racing Course, Suzuka Circuit. HELM Motorsports won the championship in the series' GT3 category, known as ST-X, in its first year in the category with a Nissan GT-R in motorsport#Group GT3, Nissan GT-R NISMO GT3. Eneos became the series' title sponsor in a multi-year agreement announced before the start of the season. In the ST-Q class, Toyota and Subaru debuted versions of their new Toyota 86#Second generation (ZN8/ZD8; 2021), Toyota GR86 and Subaru BRZ sports cars, adapted to run on carbon-neutral fuel. Super Taikyu (スーパー耐久, ''Super Endurance''), formerly known as the Super N1 Taikyu Series prior to 2005 and N1 Endurance Series prior to 1995, and currently named the Eneos Super Taikyu Series Empowered by Bridgestone for sponsorship reasons, is a Japanese Endurance racing (motorsport), endurance racing series that began in 1991. In contrast to the Super GT series, Super Taikyu is a Pro–am, pro-am racing series for commercially available racing vehicles such as Group GT3, GT3, SRO GT4, GT4, and TCR Touring Car, TCR cars, and minimally-modified production vehicles mainly from the Japanese domestic market. Group GT3
Group GT3, known technically as Cup Grand Touring Cars and commonly referred to as simply GT3, is a set of regulations maintained by the Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile (FIA) for grand tourer racing cars designed for use in various auto racing series throughout the world. The GT3 category was initially created in 2005 by the SRO Motorsports Group as a third rung in the ladder of grand touring motorsport, below the Group GT1 and Group GT2 categories which were utilized in the SRO's FIA GT Championship, and launched its own series in 2006 called the FIA GT3 European Championship. The Mercedes-AMG GT is a series of 2-door sports cars produced by German automobile manufacturer Mercedes-AMG. The car was introduced on 9 September 2014 and was officially unveiled to the public in October 2014 at the Paris Motor Show. While not directly replacing the SLS AMG (competing in a different segment), it is the second sports car developed entirely in-house by Mercedes-AMG. is a Japanese racing driver. He is the 2023 SRO Japan Cup champion. Early career Formula 4 In 2014, Kamimura graduated from the Suzuka Circuit Racing School Formula with a scholarship to compete in the inaugural season of the F4 Japanese Championship for Honda Formula Dream Project. Despite scoring a fifth-place finish in the season opener at Okayama, Kamimura didn't score another top-five finish until the season-ending Motegi round, where he finished fourth and ended his maiden season in single-seaters 12th in points. Flat-six Engine
A flat-six engine, also known as a horizontally opposed-six, is a six-cylinder piston engine with three cylinders on each side of a central crankshaft. The most common type of flat-six engine is the boxer-six engine, where each pair of opposed cylinders moves inwards and outwards at the same time. An alternative configuration for flat engines is a 180-degree V engine, where both cylinders move to the right then the left at the same time. The advantages of the flat-six layout are good engine balance (for reduced vibration), a low center of gravity, short length (compared with an inline-six engine) and being well suited to air-cooling. The disadvantages are a large width (which can limit the maximum steering angle when used in a front-engined car), a large intake manifold being required when a central carburetor is used, and duplication of the inlet and outlet connections for water-cooled engines. is a Japanese racing driver currently competing for TF Sport in the LMGT3 class of the European Le Mans Series. Career Early beginnings and National Japanese F3 title (2004–2015) Koizumi made his car-racing debut in 2004, racing in the Honda Integra Kanto Series, where he took a best result of second in the second round. The following year, he switched to Super Taikyu, racing in the ST-3 class for Tomei Sports alongside Akira Yoshitomi. Takuro Shinohara
(born November 20, 1994) is a Japanese racing driver from Yokohama. He won the TCR Japan Saturday and Sunday Series in 2020, racing for Audi Team Hitotsuyama. Career Super GT In 2018, Shinohara was listed in the Fuji Race for Audi Team Hitotsuyama but did not race. Shinohara made his debut in the series in 2020 with X Works partnered with Hong Kong driver Shaun Thong. Shinohara only raced for the first round, then he competed with Pacific - D'station Racing AMR for 2 rounds. Shinohara competed full time for 2021 with Audi Team Hitotsuyama alongside Shintaro Kawabata. He went on to get his first Super GT win at Motegi, and finished 15th in the standings.
